Page Designer doesn't display the value of a single select column look up

Hello, in Page Designer I’m displaying linked records in table mode. A look-up of a single select column doesn’t display as a value but shows instead the ID of the single select value.

I’m using a formula field to turn the single select column into a text string as a work around, but wondered whether this is this expected behavior?
