Hi,

I’m using AirTable to assign projects to members of a team. Setup is as follows:

  1. Design Team Table
  • Name
  • Email Address
  1. Master Table with list of projects,
  • Assigned to Field which is pulled manually from the Design Team Table
  • Status which starts as Requested, moves to backlog and then is change to Active when the work is assigned to a specific designer

I would like to be able to send an email to a designer when we assign them a project.

I’m pretty sure this is not doable in AirTable natively. Can it be done using a Zap? I have found ways to send emails if you have a single table for one user, but that’s all I’ve seen.

Appreciate any help.

Debbie

Yes, a Zap should be able to do the trick. You may be able to get this done with the free two-step Zapier account (one step to trigger, one to send the email), but depending on the details you want in the process, it may require more steps.

Oh it’s company thing, so I can pay for Zap. Thanks for the help. I’ll dig in and see if I can figure it out.

Hey @Debbie_Lefkowitz,
If each team member is an Airtable user, you could use a collaborator field in the master table and Airtable will send them an email automatically when you assign.
Cheers,
Neil
