Hello Airtable community!

I have been playing around with Airtable trying to send an automated slack message with either a list or a grid (grid preferred) where I can place different information from my table. This can be done when I am emailing, but for some reason on Airtable I receive a weird code.

If there is no solution, is there at least a way where I can format my message to go out as a list?

Please help me solve this!

Best,
Ines

Formatting is a common problem inside the “Message” boxes for automation steps.

For example, when sending an email, they allow some HTML, but you have to send all the HTML in one line and avoid some tags.

Based on this Zapier article Slack allows “mrkdown” (a version of Markdown)

But when I test it, only a few “tags” work, so my guessing is:

Airtable tries to format the content of the messages and then escape some of the tags, so there is not an easy way to do it unless you connect directly to Slack´s API to format the message correctly.

My request for Airtable:
There should be an easy toggl button so you can use “pure HTML” (in email) or “mrkdown” in Slack so you can format better the content.
