Hello friends, just learning about airtable. Here’s our desired application: a car registry.
Many sports car owners are passionate about their cars, and there is great desire for a public registry of cars like porsche, corvette, etc…to facilitate communication among owners of similar cars.

Types of info would include year, color, model, location, photo, owner, contact info, etc.

Is anyone using airtable for something similar? Would it make sense to imbed the tables in a website, or use a webpage to link to airtable pages instead?

Can airtables be made to be editable by anyone who wants to add a car? Can existing lines in the table be locked (so people cannot screw up the table)? Can access be restricted by a password? Can email be made mandatory?

THANKS SO MUCH FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTIONS

Hi @Jamie_Walters,

Welcome to Airtable Community ! :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

What you are looking for is a Form. The steps would be:

  1. Create a Table with the required information
  2. Add View, Form
  3. Share the link on your website for people to fill the information, which in return will populate the fields in your table.
  4. If you want, you can share Views of your table (without editing permissions) on your website.

Does that answer your question?
