If we had the ability to post comments to a record using the API, then we’d be able to turn AirTable into a true CRM with a flow of constant communication being added as comments to a contact’s record in a table.
To extend this further, you could use Zapier to do the following:
Email - Grab content fro incoming email, put content as a comment under an associated ‘Individual Contact’ record as a comment. Anytime you open up that Individual contact, you’ll be able to see the thread of all emails sent and received (as comments).
SMS (text message) - We would be able to use Ring Central or a compatible cloud SMS phone system to put all text message content under an associated ‘Individual Contact’ record as a comment. Anytime you open up that Individual contact, you’ll be able to see the thread of all SMS messages sent and received (as comments).
And the list could go on with any service an individual or business uses to communicate with vendors, teammates or customers (if those services are supported by Zapier).
