What is the proposed idea/solution?
Create an extension (or add ability to Forms) that would allow a user to enter in new data once, which would then create new records in multiple appropriate linked tables.
For example, currently adding a person, address, phone#, email address would require creating 4 new records and entering each. Yes, you can do this from a grid view, but each additional linked table makes this very cumbersome.
Ideally, you should be able to enter in all the data for one logical record (first name, last name, street address, city, state, zip, phone #, phone type, email address, etc.) and the extension would create a new record in each appropriate table, linking them as needed.
How does is solve the user problems?
Data entry in linked tables in a PIA, esp the more linked tables there are.
How was this validated?
Very common age-old issue. Other db products have this capability.
Who is the target audience?
Everyone creating new records with schema that uses linked tables. (i.e., just about everyone?)
