I want to be able to hide the primary field when I am sharing specific views. Specifically I would love to do this in the gallery view but ideally in all views.

Totally agree, I desperately need this fix as I am trying to show my availble vehciles for my hire car company online and need to hide the registration number off the website.

Please make this change asap.

Is changing the key field with a Synced table even possible?

This article says so (see "Primary field customization"): https://support.airtable.com/docs/getting-started-with-airtable-sync. I can't get it to work...

The mandatory key field is the last bastion of confounding anti-UX in Airtable. It is an all-around amazing product but this is a heinous limitation.
