Instead of focussing on working out which date entry is most recent perhaps you can try focussing on which auto number entry is most recent. So, give each new entry it’s own line on an Item Table. Then have an auto number column, like this:

I’m doing something similar using Typeforms which has basic calculations built in and also Jump Logic. It’s a great service. Then I use Zapier to connect to Airtable.
You could try autonumbering each entry and then do a rollup to another table and then use MAX Value formula to find which entry (in the rollup) has the highest auto number. Then if the auto number on your initial entry matches the highest auto number...
Yes please include this feature. For example, someone could fill in a form saying that they want to buy something for $2 and another item for $5 and the form could state that the total cost will be $7.
