In the meantime, I started using a standalone barcode scanner (DS2278 from Zebra). It works just like a physical keyboard. Works good but is little bit of an investement.
Yes please add this function to Interface. Interface is a great tool for mobile uses as it is fully customisable. The thing missing is the barcode reader.
