automations failing when sending email from linked outlooks account

i have gotten the same error message several times in a row: 

Microsoft reported an error while processing this action:

Microsoft may be experiencing issues with their API

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Looks like Outlook (along with related applications) is down.
