Connect to multiple tables for "link to another record"

Is it possible when selecting "Link to another record" to be able to connect to multiple tables? I can only see the option to link to one table (multiple records, yes, but multiple tables, no)? Or any workarounds for this?

I'm building out a content model and for some of the content types, the source content fields can come from multiple other locations, so I need to be able to reference this in my data model.

Each linked record field can only link to one table. You can either use multiple linked record fields (and possibly consolidate the data using a formula field), or you can see if you can merge your multiple content tables into a single table.
