Hi all,

Nice to meet you all. We've had Airtable for about a year, and uptake among my colleagues has been MUCH higher than I would have guessed. The tool fits perfectly for a group of people who are able to teach themselves, especially since it's been very easy to see reasons why they'd want to teach themselves.

Also enjoying reading a little about all of you. I'm sure I'll be back with questions!

The wins so far have been the ideas and talent that we had here on staff. I mostly do tech admin stuff but I've been so happy to see staff take this tool beyond a spreadsheet upgrade to really build workflows in it.

How has AIrtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? In the perpetually resource-constrained world of higher ed, it's refreshing to have a need for data storage, management, or visualization/dashboarding and not have to wait ages for a developer to spin it up. We can take charge of our own information and store it in a central location, integrate with other systems, and manage our work more efficiently. We primarily use it within our marketing team here, but always expanding to other use cases, especially the ones that Salesforce can't (or shouldn't) accommodate.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? I discovered Airtable in 2019 when working in a digital learning and design department at Imperial College London. We used Airtable to turn a very complex spreadsheet of mine into a proper collaboration tool and curriculum development tracker. Back then, there were no automations, syncs or interfaces, but just taking advantage of the relational database and views was a huge win for us and the cross-functional collaboration between learning designers, academics and creative team. As the product developed, we started using it for as many business processes as possible.

Now, in the EDU team at Airtable, we use it to power most of our planning and production processes and I have particularly enjoyed figuring out how to turn customer feedback into actionable requests that we can then track and incorporate into our sprint planning.

My favourite thing is problem solving with Airtable and I'm especially interested in use cases where builders push the product to its limit and come up with nifty solutions.

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I am the program coordinator for the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program. (Yes, Duke and UNC can collaborate off the basketball court!).

I have been using Airtable for 5+ years now to manage my program's registration and event scheduling. We have hundreds of participants per year, and our faculty/staff are spread out across many institutions. Airtable's flexibility in helping me to provide people what they need, when they need it, and in ways that they can access it easily has been crucial.

Duke has recently entered into an enterprise agreement with Airtable. so I am looking forward to exploring more of Airtable's enterprise features!

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

When we grew our Marketing and Communications team we knew we needed a way to collaborate better, refine workflows, define roles and improve efficiencies. We were already dabbling with Airtable in our smaller team but upgrading to a Business plan put us on a new path and both our team and daily use of Airtable continues to grow. It has proven an invaluable tool and I feel like we're only just starting to unlock its potential.

I serve as the assistant director of communications and marketing for the Office of the CIO. We've used Airtable for approximately 3 years for things such as stakeholder mapping, communication intake requests, MarCom campaign tracking and styleguides for writing.

Hi everyone!

Name: Latrice Bowman

Company/Role: University of Alaska Fairbanks /Multiple Roles (Math Faculty, Math Services Coordinator, Member of a few Faculty Senate Committees)

Location: Fairbanks, AK

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

I was first introduced to Airtable on one the committees I sit on.  We were looking for ways to assess our new SLOs for General Education.  At the time we were using it as a database on crack.  Over the years we started finding uses that allowed us to restructure our assessment process.  From there I have branched to using this in my courses and our Senate has adopted this for use in many other areas.  Two that I work with regularly are: testing services - uses it for organizing our proctoring for both synchronous and asynchronous courses, and Provost's office - we use this to submit and update workloads.

I am also using this in my everyday work.

As the Math Services coordinator, I use Airtable to keep track of student employees and TAs, their assignments each semester (grading, recitations, tutoring), their schedules, and codes for access to various rooms.  I also use the automation to send out notifications and use the forms for documents that need updating each semester.

As a faculty member, I use Airtable in my mastery-based courses to keep track of retake attempts.  I use automation to send out reminders about course progress, and I use an interface to help students track their progress.

I have found that Airtable has made many of these things, that I have done for many years, much more efficient.
