We’ve been able to make a real impact by helping EdTech companies streamline their operations and universities improve alumni engagement, track donations, and coordinate programs and fellowships—all while cutting down on manual tasks.

Airtable’s flexibility has been essential, not only for managing complex workflows but also for integrating with the diverse systems that Higher Ed institutions already use, like CRMs, Student Information Systems (SIS), and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Looking forward to sharing insights and learning from everyone here! 🚀

Well now I live and breath Airtable. Internally, I use it for contact tracking, surveying customers, providing reports to our leadership, and for keeping myself accountable day-to-day on various tasks. It serves as our repository for information regarding new Airtable features (and collateral associated), support tickets, and even a directory of people that I can direct questions to.

I'm here to help in any way that I can and always open to your feedback, questions, and/or concerns! I can't wait to build alongside you all! 🔨

When introduced to me as an "Excel on Steroids", I'm pretty sure I rolled my eyes immediately. Oh was I so wrong!

What started with natural curiosity quickly evolved into a passion and excitement for poking around, incessant Googling, and watching others build great tables on YouTube for the sake of efficiency. Fast-forwarding to today, AirTable has enabled our small but nimble team to streamline processes, alleviate pain points like requests getting lost in inboxes, strategize effectively by looking ahead when planning communications, as well as serve as our own internal operations hub for getting things done right, fast, and even leap-frogging the boundaries of our own capacities being a small team that serves a large variety of stakeholders.

Happy to connect with anyone looking to get started building, share innovative use cases, bounce ideas, or just share what we've learned! 🤓

PS. S/O to anyone who went to DareTable 2024 🤖 (Hello again Matt! 👋)

We’ve been able to streamline our office's intake process through Airtable's form builder. It's great tracking requests and scheduling meetings.

Our students have commented on the ease of using Airtable, accessing our resources and filtering them to their personalized needs. No more out of date static spreadsheets!

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? Airtable has been instrumental in launching Ascend WV, our talent attraction and retention program. As an early team member, I had the rewarding experience of bringing a vision for a remote worker program to life in my home state! From processing over 50,000 applications to powering our outdoor gear rental library, Airtable has enabled me—despite having no coding background—to build powerful applications that benefit our members, community, and team. Today, we're using Airtable to launch federally funded economic and community development programs, advancing our mission at West Virginia University to revitalize the Appalachian region and fulfill our land-grant commitment.

We started using it as database/development tracker for learning assets when creating online learning experiences. Now we use it for E V E R Y T H I N G. New use cases every week, from a ticketing support system for our tech team, to room bookings, to our entire team resourcing and project pipeline. My job centres around creating interfaces to make systems and processes easier, and I couldn't do it without Airtable 💕. I'm very happy to share use cases and pretty interfaces with others, too.

Hi everyone! Excited to learn from you all and hoping to capture your feedback in the weeks and months to come to make sure our user group program yields the maximum amount of helpfulness, impact, insights, and value it can.

Not from an educational institution like many of you, but hoping I can add to the conversation with my years experience in software customer education 🙂

Incredible to hear from so many of you already, and absolutely loving these stories about how Airtable has helped break down silos, and optimize work across many different use cases! I can't wait to hear more of these stories and connections in upcoming user group meetings.

Hi all,

Nice to meet you all. We've had Airtable for about a year, and uptake among my colleagues has been MUCH higher than I would have guessed. The tool fits perfectly for a group of people who are able to teach themselves, especially since it's been very easy to see reasons why they'd want to teach themselves.

Also enjoying reading a little about all of you. I'm sure I'll be back with questions!

The wins so far have been the ideas and talent that we had here on staff. I mostly do tech admin stuff but I've been so happy to see staff take this tool beyond a spreadsheet upgrade to really build workflows in it.

Hi, friends! Excited to be part of this group. 🙂

How has AIrtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? In the perpetually resource-constrained world of higher ed, it's refreshing to have a need for data storage, management, or visualization/dashboarding and not have to wait ages for a developer to spin it up. We can take charge of our own information and store it in a central location, integrate with other systems, and manage our work more efficiently. We primarily use it within our marketing team here, but always expanding to other use cases, especially the ones that Salesforce can't (or shouldn't) accommodate.

Name: Anne Marie Rützou Bruntse
Company/Role: I help design education content for Airtable Academy and also get to develop and maintain our processes and internal Airtable app.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? I discovered Airtable in 2019 when working in a digital learning and design department at Imperial College London. We used Airtable to turn a very complex spreadsheet of mine into a proper collaboration tool and curriculum development tracker. Back then, there were no automations, syncs or interfaces, but just taking advantage of the relational database and views was a huge win for us and the cross-functional collaboration between learning designers, academics and creative team. As the product developed, we started using it for as many business processes as possible.

Now, in the EDU team at Airtable, we use it to power most of our planning and production processes and I have particularly enjoyed figuring out how to turn customer feedback into actionable requests that we can then track and incorporate into our sprint planning.

My favourite thing is problem solving with Airtable and I'm especially interested in use cases where builders push the product to its limit and come up with nifty solutions.

Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I am the program coordinator for the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program. (Yes, Duke and UNC can collaborate off the basketball court!).

I have been using Airtable for 5+ years now to manage my program's registration and event scheduling. We have hundreds of participants per year, and our faculty/staff are spread out across many institutions. Airtable's flexibility in helping me to provide people what they need, when they need it, and in ways that they can access it easily has been crucial.

Duke has recently entered into an enterprise agreement with Airtable. so I am looking forward to exploring more of Airtable's enterprise features!

When we grew our Marketing and Communications team we knew we needed a way to collaborate better, refine workflows, define roles and improve efficiencies. We were already dabbling with Airtable in our smaller team but upgrading to a Business plan put us on a new path and both our team and daily use of Airtable continues to grow. It has proven an invaluable tool and I feel like we're only just starting to unlock its potential.

Hi everyone!

Name: Latrice Bowman

Company/Role: University of Alaska Fairbanks /Multiple Roles (Math Faculty, Math Services Coordinator, Member of a few Faculty Senate Committees)

Location: Fairbanks, AK

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world?

I was first introduced to Airtable on one the committees I sit on.  We were looking for ways to assess our new SLOs for General Education.  At the time we were using it as a database on crack.  Over the years we started finding uses that allowed us to restructure our assessment process.  From there I have branched to using this in my courses and our Senate has adopted this for use in many other areas.  Two that I work with regularly are: testing services - uses it for organizing our proctoring for both synchronous and asynchronous courses, and Provost's office - we use this to submit and update workloads.

I am also using this in my everyday work.

As the Math Services coordinator, I use Airtable to keep track of student employees and TAs, their assignments each semester (grading, recitations, tutoring), their schedules, and codes for access to various rooms.  I also use the automation to send out notifications and use the forms for documents that need updating each semester.

As a faculty member, I use Airtable in my mastery-based courses to keep track of retake attempts.  I use automation to send out reminders about course progress, and I use an interface to help students track their progress.

I have found that Airtable has made many of these things, that I have done for many years, much more efficient.

How has Airtable helped you unlock wins for your work in the EDU world? We needed a flexible database to track DEI efforts and activities across the institution and how they align to our goals. We also use it to understand our stakeholders and manage elements of our projects. I also use it for our communications content calendar and backlog.
