Hi everyone! I hope I explain this correctly since I’m not an Airtable guru. I created an Airtable automation with Gmail and completed a project yesterday. I want the client to receive an automated email confirming completion of the project today. Images of configuration and results are attached, but the email hasn’t been sent yet. I assumed it would have been sent by now and it hasn’t. I’m CST and currently it’s 10:55am. Am I missing anything?  

Hello!I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure this out - can anybody help?In my base, I have a main table named “Contacts” in which there’s a single select column for “Category” (stylist, producer etc...)I then have a table for each of these Categories with more info to add there.In those tables, I have added a Linked Record column to take the name from the main contacts table, with a condition:“Filter record selection by a conditionwhere all of the following condition is trueWhereCategoryisStylist” Even with that condition, it’s still pulling the info for all contacts. I even tried to filter by view, to no avail with the same result. Has anyone faced this before?

I have three Tables. - Commit Items, Invoice Header, and Invoice Detail. Lets assume that For Commit No ACB001 there are 4 Records in Commit Items Table with many records for other Commit Nos.. When the invoice is received for Commit No ABC001 and entered on Invoice Header table with Invoice No and Commit No ABC001, I would like automation to grab four records from Commit Items table and create those 4 records + Invoice number in Invoice Detail table. How do I achieve this? Just a reminder, I am new to AirTable.

Hi guys,I’m building a CRM within Airtable and need to create a two-way sync between Airtable and Google Calendar so if an event is created/updated/deleted in one, it automatically updates in the other. This is the current setup I have: A separate ‘Meetings’ table for events created within Airtable and a separate table that’s integrated with the Google Calendar (on the interface, it will all just be one calendar). I am trying to create an “Update Record” automation so if an event is updated in Airtable, it updates in Google Calendar but I’m running into some issues and with the vice-versa automation.The trigger runs successfully but the action always fails:

Hey Airtable Community!First time community user so please be kind! I work for an Event Production company, we are beginning to explore the possibility on switching to airtable.  We currently use an Edoc software called Pandadocs for our proposal writing.I am trying to figure out the possibility of when Documet completed → Airtable duplicates a prebuilt base and then takes the pricing table information in the doc and pushes it into each table accordingly.I will admit there is still a lot of details still up in the air, such as what is a table and what is a view? But I am focused on how mechanically I can make that kind of automation and what guardrails I should look out for? 

I’ve been building a workflow that connects Airtable to a CMS so blog content can move from planning to publishing with less manual work.The setup usually includes title, slug, content, images, publish date, and status fields, plus a draft/review/publish flow.I’m curious how others here manage content operations: do you keep Airtable as the source of truth, or do you use it only for planning?Happy to share the structure I use if anyone is trying to reduce manual blog publishing work.

Hey all, figured I’d ask this question and see if anyone has advice/experience, plus it’s been awhile since an Outlook integration thread in case of application changes…So I’ve got an active automation setup integrated with an Outlook calendar wherein people submit tickets and dates, and when a date is created an automation fires to create an Outlook event, with the Outlook ID written into the record for reference. Then when certain conditions are met, another automation fires to update the Outlook Calendar event by referencing the ID. For the most part (like 97% of the time) this works fine, but I’m having a devil of a time on that last 3%. Some of this is accountable to people using the data layer and fulfilling update conditions at creation, those are able to be rectified. I have created a “Release Planner” base in Airtable for coordinating all the steps we have to complete for a software release. I created one table called ‘Template”, and I copy that template to a new table for each release.Now, I want to set up automations to notify me and the assigned to person daily while any task is open, across all tables. I seem only to have been able to set it up on one, but then it doesn’t copy over when I copy the template to a new table. And I can’t seem to set it up the right way every time, plus it’s time consuming. Does anyone have a hack for creating a base-wide notification? Or a way to copy automations across tables?Happy to do scripting, but I would need detailed instructions, as I haven’t done that in Airtable before.Thank you!

Hi all, I am running into a challenge again related to automations and multiple select fields. I have a table where locations are input as “city, province” (I live in Canada). For example, “Toronto, ON”. When a record is approved, an automation kicks in and has to populate the location field in another table. The problem is that when I assign the location field in the 2nd table as a multiple select, the automation splits the city and province (“Toronto”, “ON”). I tried making the location field in the 2nd table as a single line text but still the problem exists. I have spent so much time trying to figure this out but am unable to. Good Morning, I am working on building a table where my daily sales data is entered, and that data point from this year can be compared to the same day of the week from the previous year. I am not a professional developer, so forgive me if my knowledge is at the beginner level. Currently, all of the data is populating correctly, but I have to manually enter in the SelfLink value. I have tried to create an automation for when a new record is created, however have been unsuccessful so far. Here is a screenshot of how the relevant points from the table are set up. My question is, do I need an automation, or is there a lookup field that I could enter into get the selflink field to automatically reference the corresponding day from the calendar week number of the previous year?Any direction on h

I’m running into an issue where the hyperlink is not being created in an automated email that includes a link to an Airtable form that includes prefilled fields using Markdown. Hi everyone and Airtable Support team,I am writing to request a one-time reset or waiver of our automation quota for the current billing cycle.What happened: I was performing a bulk field update in our base (which contains approximately 18,000 records). I converted a Single Select field to a Link to another record field. I did not realize that this conversion would trigger an existing automation for every single record in the base simultaneously.The result: Our entire monthly quota of 25k automation runs was exhausted in a matter of minutes.The impact: Our entire content and editorial workflow is currently paralyzed. We rely on these automations for assignment notifications, status updates, and external freelancer communications. Extra spaces have been added above & below the text despite setting the padding to 0. In a rich-text enabled long text I can use [] to create a check list.Trying to create a checklist by default in an automation using the same function but it doesn’t seem to work. Is there anything different I need to do if this is a capability? If not i can look into adding it to a script that I have earlier in the automation.

Hi,I’m a bit confused regarding exactly how to navigate the different situations when wanting to append data with Update Record automations. I see some seemingly random errors that I quite can’t understand.The basic use is clear,  add “back” the existing data that was in the field, then add the new data separated by a space or by a comma if it’s an array.But, how to deal with these situations?you don’t know if there is existing data in the field, so which input variable do you place first? The variable for the existing data, or the new? I seem to get errors if having the existing data variable first, indicating it can’t fill first an empty variable then process the comma and the new data.   if you use the values under FLATTEN in the variable token, should you use a space or a comma as delimiter? As FLATTEN transforms an array to a comma-separated string, shouldn’t one then use space? Or, should one not FLATTEN the data, and

I have a table (“Active”) with thousands of records, each with at least one photo, the table is refreshing more slowly everyday (we upload small file images). To help speed things up I have created a copy of the table (without data) and setup an automation to copy any given record to a new table (“Archive”) when two field values are met ( “status”=SOLD, and “Archive” checkbox is ticked). This is working now that I’ve mapped all of the fields from one table to the other. I want to continue the automation to delete the record (from the “Active” table) that has been duplicated from the “Active” table to the “Archive” table. Tutorials say to add an additional action, “Delete Record”, but I find no such choice when adding an additional action. It seems this should be an evident action, but I’m stuck. We have a “Team” level subscription so I’ve read the option should be available. We’re using Safari on Macs. All advice appreciated. 

Hi,It seems that the Google Calendar: Create Event requires a hard coded (chosen) calendar to place an event in. We have used a shared calendar for this, but it gets somewhat messy.Hence, would it somehow be possible to have the event placed in a dynamically chosen calendar? Either <current user> or somehow derived based on a variable (e-mail addresse for example)?Rgds,Björn

Hello,We’re working on an Airtable automation and wanted to sanity‑check whether this setup is supported or if there’s a better approach.We have a table called Research plan with a linked record field (Research study) pointing to another table. In the Research study table, there’s already a Persona field populated.Our goal is: when a new Research plan record is created and a Research study is selected, automatically populate the Persona field on the Research plan with the Persona from the linked Research study.We tried doing this with an automation:Trigger: When a record is created (Research plan) Action: Update record (the same Research plan record)However, the automation fails with the error: “Updating the record failed due to insufficient permissions.”We’ve confirmed:The automation owner has edit access to both tables The Persona field on Research plan is not a formula or rollup

I’ve tried almost every workaround I can think of. As a temporary solution, I can force “Deep Match” to always return something (a "fallback" record), but I haven’t found a way to trigger an automation after “Deep Match” runs successfully and finds nothing. Does anyone know of a workaround, or can point out what I might be missing?

In an automation with multiple logic branches, I like to end the Otherwise step by sending an email to myself with details to be research to find out why things didn’t go as expected. I find that works well most of the time. It also prevents the automation from outright failing.But when things are busy and the automation runs frequently, it is harder to find the exact run that failed. Is there any way to include the automation runtime in that Send an email step? I don’t see any way to get at those details.

Hi there, It appears that there are a lot of threads but I can’t find an answer. I want to be able to add some images and font sizes and colours. I’ve tried connecting to GMail and setting up a signature but it doesn’t include the signature in the email body. I also have a field with the persons name in the airtable base, however that isn’t displaying for some reason.  This should be pretty straight forward. I’m open to paying someone to do this.  Thanks in advance. Jared.

I’ve been banging my head against a wall trying to get this to work and at this point I’ve come to the conclusion this might not be possible. I’m hoping that there is a wizard out there that may be able to help with this issue.  So context:My base contains 3 tables. An inventory, a customer table, and an orders table. There are linked fields in both my Inventory and my Orders table that link to the customers table. Within my Inventory table there is also a linked field that links to the inventory. What I want to do is whenever I add a piece of inventory to a record in the Order table, that it adds the customers name to the item within the Inventory table.  I’ve tried getting Omni to help me set it up, I’ve tried getting the support chatbot to help, and I’ve even tried Claude to help me with no results. If someone could share the correct setup I’d be eternally grateful. If I’m knocking on a door that doesn’t exist
