Hello Airtable Community,I'm excited to join the community! I have a basic understanding of Airtable and I'm now focusing on intermediate and advanced topics. My goal is to master:Advanced formulas Linked records, rollups, and lookups Interfaces Automations AI features Business database design CRM systems Workflow automation with n8nI'm building my skills to help businesses create efficient workflows and automation solutions.I'd love to hear from experienced members:Which intermediate or advanced Airtable Academy courses do you recommend? What projects helped you improve the most? Are there any best practices or resources I shouldn't miss?I look forward to learning from the community and contributing as my skills grow. If there are opportunities to collaborate on Airtable projects or volunteer on community initiatives, I'd be happy to help.Thank you
I’m new to Airtable, for the most part it’s not bad I’ve used Chat GPT and OMNI to set up my table however when generating a letter the identifier is not showing up in the right footer note like it should it’s using another Identifier. I’ve done everything I can to fix this but I’m getting nowhere
Despite log showing execution:I still get error :I believe the script to be OK, “let recordId = input.recordId;” Does anyone have any suggestions?
I’m fairly certain the answer is going to be no, but is it possible to get/collect the accepted/rejected responses to calendar invites when sent via Automations? We have a meeting planner, we will send out invites using an automation (fairly standard) - can we accept the responses in some way to then use that information (for example, a manager declines, so we can invite their deputy)?Anyone done anything like this?

We are on the Business plan and have almost reached our limit of 50 automations. Is there a way to request additional automations? We’re willing to pay for the additional automations, but just need to know who to talk to.
I am trying to set up a more complex automation than I’ve done before and something is wrong but I can’t figure out what exactly. The base has a workflow for tasks to onboard/offboard employees. There’s an overview table and then tables with sections of tasks. So each new hire shows up on all 5 tables. On the task tables, I’ve got a field that totals the completed tasks. I want that number to automatically (when updated) to be updated for the corresponding person on the overview table so that I can do an overarching completion percentage. I had the AI tool help me try to fix it, but now the wrong data (sometimes from the wrong record, sometimes from the wrong field) is getting copied over to the overview table.
Why do I have to regularly reconnect Slack to Airtable? It happens every few weeks or months, without warning (other than widespread automation-failed notifications). How can I avoid having to reconnect every automation that involves the ones I have set up to sent notifications via Slack?
If i Delete my account, will i no longer be billed. It is not clear and there is no response page. Very frustrating. I could not figure out how to cancel after my free trial and have been being billed for ½ year.
I am trying to create an automation that upon clicking a button, it takes all the records from the table, creates a PDF and sends it to the recipients. Is that possible?
Hi, I’m currently trying to set up an automation where a record will be updated, but I’m having a hard time with it. I’m attaching pictures of the current setup I have for it. In the data we have a ‘Start Date’ that will be entered manually. We have a 45 day deadline to turn paperwork in and we would enter it manually under the ‘Completed Date’ once its turned in. If no paperwork is turned in those initial 45 days, we want the automation to flag it and update the status under ‘45-Day Due’ as ‘Expired’. We have another automation (that is working perfectly fine) set up that changes the status of ‘45-Day Due’ to ‘Completed’ once a date is entered into ‘Completed Date’. Any help with the automation is greatly appreciated! :)
Hi everyone,I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. This is my current automation trigger for sending off an SMS to participants linked to a session. My concern is that I often have multiple sessions scheduled for delivery on the same day. I need the automation to trigger separately for each individual session, rather than just once for the date.Has anyone found a reliable workaround for this? If so, I'd really appreciate any suggestions or examples of how you've approached it.Thanks so much!Kieran
I’m trying to figure out a way to create an automation that will trigger a script when I create a new record from within a filtered view. We have one airtable base that manages all content type for our website, and I handle a subsection (the blog). I have a filtered view that shows the publication pipeline for just blog posts. When a new item is created in our AirTable, we have automations set up so that if you check a box, it will create a Google Doc that is affiliated with that record. I’ve been trying to set it up so that if I create a new record from within a filtered view (i.e. I create a new record under “proposed story”), which has already been filtered to only show blog posts, I’d like it to run the script to create the Google Doc.It seems as if everything I try requires an additional manual step (either change the content type to blank and then change back again to blog post OR uncheck and then recheck the box to create a Google Doc). Is there any way that if a record is CREAT
Hi all,Working on creating a daily digest email to summarize changes made in the past 24 hours. I’ve been able to set the scheduled time, find records to grab only those modified yesterday, and sort the list by our event date, but then I’m hitting a wall.I want the email to show what the changes are, not just that that record has been updated. Is there a way to run a script to specifically flag which column has been updated or would I need a whole series of “last modified” columns to catch it? Or is there another workaround here, such as through DocsAutomator or another add-on?
I have a business account but not enterprise level (I’m a sole trader).I have two tables, each with dates (one was made using a Make connector to Outlook up to this month and the other a direction connection to Outlook going forwards) and a name as a unique identifier.I’ve tried pulling both sets of data into a unifier table but I then lose the date format and just have text. The date is key so I can then create a field with a specific timeline reminder for the unique name.I am VERY new to this and can only find moving to enterprise an option to then use synced tables but this is costly.I could backtrack so that I connect Outlook from an earlier date but I’ve spent a lot of time removing old data I wouldn’t want in my database.I’m finding I’m going through AI credits very quickly and not achieving my goal. If I need to start again, it’s an option :-)Anyone have any ideas? Thank you for any time you have to spare.
Hello, I work in a conservation lab, and we take items in for repair. We have student workers, and each of the students have a view of the air table that is essentially items assigned to them.In the main airtable I have a multi-select “status” field. This defaults to unassigned, but I can also assign things to myself or the students. We also have a “done/completed” in this multi-select that has an automation to date stamp another column when that is selected. The students view is based on an “assigned to” column that has everyone’s name who work in the lab in a drop down multi-select.I want to set up automations that if I select status “Conservator Workbench” in the first multi-select, it will automatically change to my name in the “Assigned to” multi-select column. If I change the status to “Student name” I want it to automatically change to the students name in the multi-select “Assigned to” column. I assume I will need to make an automation for myself and each of the student workers
Hi everyone,I'm looking for the best approach for the following use case.We have a read-only Shared View that we share with an external agency. They should be able to update only one field (Status Massnahme), which contains multiple predefined single-select status values. We do not want to give them collaborator access or edit permissions to the base.My initial idea was to include a button or link in the Shared View that would trigger an n8n workflow to update the record. However, since there are many possible status values, I'm wondering if there's a better approach.Has anyone implemented a similar workflow? Some questions: Is it possible to let external users update only one field from a Shared View? Would you recommend n8n, Airtable Portals, Fillout, Interfaces, or another solution? If using n8n, how would you pass the record ID and let the user choose from multiple status values? Are there any limitations with buttons or links in Shared Views that I should be aware of? The goal
Hi,Using “When a record matches conditions” I want to “Find records” using a result in a previous “Find records”. That result is originally a LookUp, which result I know I can’t use as a dynamic condition in an automation, giving a “Cannot assign list of string to string” error.Hence I created a formula field which CONCATENATEs the LookUp to what I though is a string. Regardless of that, I still get the same error, and cannot use the new formula field in the automation either. The result is a recordID so cannot format these into single selects, they are unique. What have I forgotten about how these work 🤔?Rgds,Björn

Hi guys!If you want to make your email better with dynamic URL, just make it: [Link name](URL) syntax directly in the email body field:Link NameAirtable's email editor renders this as a clickable link automatically.TipThis works with dynamic field values too — if a formula field outputs Link Name as text, insert that field into the email body and it renders as a link when the email sends.Common mistakeJust pasting the raw link (https://long-ugly-url.com) instead of wrapping it in Link Name — the email then shows the ugly raw URL instead of a clean clickable word.
I have setup an automation so when someone emails a purchase request, it makes a record and notifies me in Airtable, however it doesn’t look like there is away to email an attachment and have it populate the attachment field. Is this possible?
Hello,I am currently setting up an automation to send an email when a form is submitted. I had also created an extension page that is a confirmation sheet of sorts for clients that auto-fills information based on what information is submitted via the form in question. I was wondering if it is possible to attach this extension to an email automation. Or even automate this sheet to send on it’s own without an attached email message. Thanks!
Hi everyone,My workspace is on the Business plan and the latest invoice was successfully paid after a prior failed payment. The workspace billing page shows:Plan: Business Invoice status: Paid Invoice amount: $54 Subscription status: Active Automation run limit: 100,000 per invoice periodHowever, the Usage page still shows 100,000 / 100,000 automation runs, and automations remain blocked. It looks like the billing entitlement was refreshed, but the automation usage/block state may still be stuck after the failed payment.Has anyone experienced this before?Does Airtable automatically refresh this after some time, or does Support need to manually reset/remove the automation block?I already contacted Airtable Support, but I’m asking here to see if anyone has seen the same issue and how it was resolved.Thanks.
Hi,I’m pondering how to build an automation’s “Find records” step when the “contains” direction is seemingly wrong. Apologies for the perhaps convoluted question, this was difficult to write :).I trigger the automation from a Project with a button and want to find the Contact linked to that Project, using linked RecordIDs. One Contact can have many Projects, but one Project only one Contact. The Find step now has “Contacts” as its table, I think obviously. But then the order of my conditions is that the first variable refers to “Contacts”, and the second to “Projects” where the trigger button is.I wanted to look for the Contact that would contain the Project’s RecordID (I have linked that data), but instead I can only look for the Project which contains (or “is”) the Contact’s RecordID. But since there may be many Projects to one Contact, “contain” would not work I guess.I want to reverse this logic or somehow look for the Contact that contains the given Projects ID.How could I go about
