Sharing Interface Captures in Automations

Hello,

 

Our leadership uses reporting dashboards for visibility on projects happening amongst their teams.

 

There has been a request to send these in an email - however, we want to avoid any links that need to be clicked and would rather the interface images themselves populate in the email.

 

Is this something that can be done? Is it possible to do it without a third-party application?

What you want to do is only possible by using 3rd-party document-generation tools.

Once you use one of these 3rd-party tools, then you can automate the process to happen automatically on a regular schedule.

Here are the most popular 3rd-party apps for automatically generating documents from Airtable:

  1. DocsAutomator — creates Google Docs documents or PDF files.
  2. Typeflow — creates PDF files.
  3. DocuMint — creates PDF files.
  4. Make’s integrations — which can be integrated with any document-creation app or PDF-creation app of your choosing, such as PDFFiller or CraftMyPDF. You can even integrate something as simple as custom Microsoft Word documents. If you’ve never used Make before, I’ve assembled a bunch of Make training resources in this thread. For example, here is one way that you can instantly trigger a Make automation from Airtable.
  5. Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable — Fillout lets you automatically generate custom PDF files from a form submission. I show off this feature on this Airtable podcast episode: Using Fillout to create an eSignature approval process with PDF file creation.

    Hm, I don’t think this is possible I’m afraid

    The only similar sort of thing I can think of is using some third party application to create a PDF that looks like your Interface and then sending that out in the email, and the Interface would still be available if users wanted to drill down into the data

    Hopefully someone else has a better idea!
