[Kanban view] Stacking field unavailable

Hi guys,I have an Airtable base with several tables, including one for “persons” and another for "sectors".The "sectors" tables link persones to fields specific to a sector.In the interface, for a specific sector, I had created a Kanban view where the stacking field was set to the ”person” :“Person” stacking field is availableHowever, after changing the interface, I noticed that I could no longer select the "person" field as the stacking field.“Person” stacking field doesn’t appearI have tried to replicate the table from the older version but I can’t manage to make the “Person” stacking field appear again.Could you please help me understand what might be causing this issue? Thank you! Marino

Analysing changes in table with imports from different times

Hi,I am importing raw data periodically, let’s say monthly.Every import includes a data field with the date of import.Given the repetitive imports, the key differentiator (let's say Supplier ID) is repeating.I added a locked view where I filter by import date.=> I now want to analyse the data for two of the imports, e.g., 1. January and 1. June and see if any supplier was added or removed and what data in a specific field (e.g. performance) has changed. The closest I got was partly manual and didn't work: I copied and pasted all Supplier IDs from both import dates into Excel and then removed duplicates.In a new table with auto number index, I added that list into two linked Supplier ID fields, and each of the fields linked to the views 1. Jan und 1. June. Then, I added two look-up fields for the performance of each date.My goal was to have a list showing either the relevant performance per different date fields or blanks if newly created or deleted suppliers.Unfortunately, both perf

Can you sort multiple linked records inside an individual cell?

Hi Airtable Community,I have an interesting problem I did not forsee when we made a base to track equipment we rent to other contractors from time to time. We have a job (record) where we linked in individual records for different kinds of equipment and now that it has been returned, we need to be able to track and validate it is here. I have the individual records that were added inside an individual cell and it went in how we did it - meaning in no numerical order (we just grabbed a piece of equipment off the shelf, scanned it into the customers record and repeated. The issue with that is the individual records didnt go in in any discernable order. They each have a number, but I can't seem to sort by the record by that number. This creates an issue becuase in order to check the items back in (or rather validate that they made it back here) we have to visually scan through every item in the record looking for the right number. This won't work as it will take too much time as there are

Possible to filter away non-wanted users from interface dropdowns?

Hi,Is it possible to somehow filter users away from interface dropdowns relying on a "User" field?We currently see both admin users, Airtable support users and some user's older user names in the dropdowns, which confuses people who should choose e.g. next handler for a topic.Rgds,BjörnPS. Related to this topic, would be nice to see user groups in Airtable. That would solve the need above.

Share permission

I have a digital asset management database with multiply artists. I would like to share only one artist’s assets with other people so they can edit on it, and the edit would sync back to my database too. I’m in Team plan currently.The solution I came up with is to create a View with only the data that I would like to share. Then create a 2-way sync and edit to a new base and share the collaborator permission of the new base. But that would require me to update go Business plan.I’m wondering if there’s a workaround with the Team plan?Thanks.

Question about development vs production environments

I'm finally making great progress and haven't been frustrated enough to quit yet, so I think I'm going to be able to make this (along with fillout) to help support my makerspace.  I hope to eventually move from the free plan to Teams once I know I have all the major pieces in place.But once I do, and we're using it, I'm concerned that my future clugey attempts to add functionality might break operations.  Is there any concept of development, QA and production versions of a workspace?

converting from filemaker

I am trying to convert an existing solution to airtable, and see some great enhanced functionality. however, there are relationships in my existing system that I am not sure how to appropriately recreate in airtable. For instance, i have a join table that shows several different related tables through a relationship. some of the relationships are many-to-many, and would be created in the main join table. What’s the best way to recreate that in AirTable?Thanks in advance…jesse

Grouping by a linked field with multiple records.... creates problems.

Hi all, Guessing this is a popular question, yet when I am searching the existing questions I've not yet found the solution. There's gotta be an easy fix.... right???  We've a base listing our clients. Each client might have between 1-3 staff assigned to support that client. For example: Steve, Jill, Carl supporting Client ASteve supporting Client BJill supporting Client CCarl supporting Client DIf I group the sheet by 'Assigned Staff' I get a list that looks Similar to above, but I am trying to produce a sheet that looks more like: Steve Supporting Client A + BJill Supporting Client A + CCarl Supporting Client A + DWhats the easiest way to achieve this? Would LOVE it if there is a known video out there that can walk me through the steps. ❤️

Is there a way to @mention multiple users in a Comment?

Hi, I have a request to set up a “tag” so that users can @mention everyone in a dept. in one new comment.  I tried doing this with groups.  I created a group made up of 4 users who are all Editors in the base, and gave the group the name “TechGroup”.  I would like to add a comment on a record and ‘@TechGroup’ so each member is notified. So, far this doesn’t seem to work.  Is there another way to tag multiple people in one mention? Thanks!

Display the root of a linked record field

Hi! I created a base and interface for a game I have been playing, Schedule 1. Yes, it is a game where you create drugs based on different combinations and then sell those drugs :P. I have included a public view of it below. I have it basically how I want it, but I need a way, anyway, toFrom the drugs table, have a view that pulls the Teir 1 drug from any drug that isn’t a T1 drug. And then display in each row, the T1 drug, the different mixed supplies, and the drug effects.The challange is, in the game, when you make the drugs, they randomize the names after mixing. So, what for me, mixing ‘Aspen Grool’ which is a T3 drug, might be called something different for another user. It would be rather daughting to dig through each drug combo and source it back to the T1 drug, so I was hoping there was a way to do it in a formula or view or something. Unique Quantities For SKUs in PO Tracker

The problem: Our manufacturer will ship the contents of a Purchase Order as they are made and ship the remaining products when completed. We have had several occurrences of not knowing what’s coming and what is left until it arrives and we open the box. (We have a middle man, there is no direct comms with the supplier). My goal: Build an interface that the manufacturer can open, select the PO number, and input how much of each SKU is in the upcoming shipment, and put in the tracking number. Where I’m at: I have a Master Products Base with all of my SKUs in one table, and purchase orders in another table. I can add my skus from the products table into each PO, but I can’t assign each sku an order qty within the PO record.The other nuanced issue is that sometimes PO’s overlap and we will have the same SKUs on multiple POs. I want to be able to assign different order quantities to each SKU in a PO, and keep track of how many have been shipped from each PO.

Why does when viewing a record show more info than a sync view has

NPO TEAM ACCOUNT (just to let folks know)So I love having master sync tables and create views off them for different usages in a base.For example: I have a common base for State and Country, absolutely love this, and use it across a lot of our bases for different purposes.In our CRM we use it for Contact, Company, Communities, Speaker/Facilitator Bureau, Charity Compliance, and Grants tables.  There are some privacy requirements, and access controls that we have in place.I have set a VIEW -  States, just for lookup that does not show ANY other fields except the STATES field.So why if the view doesn’t show any of the other fields (where it is being used in the other tables) why does the individual record show. And then when I open it up - I see all the other areas I really don’t want some of my team messing with.Have I missed how to not show the other tables?Yes, I know I could make an interface but some of us like to work in a different manner, and bulky block interfaces are not our th

Dynamic filter not working on self-linking relationship

This might be a bug or I’m doing something wrong. I have a self-linking field in the object_types table called parent that establishes a child parent relationship between types. In my part_object table I lookup the part’s parent’s object_type. The desired behavoir is that any part that is a child of an assembly will only display object types that are a child of that assemblies object type.  When I set this up I’m not getting anything. Either I’m missing something or there is a bug with dynamic filters for self-linking relationships. Anyone have any experience with dynamic filters for self-linking relationship fields?

I have two table A and B, table A has product status variable that tracks the different phases of product and helps with different views to see specific inventory. Table A is also linked to table B, I would like to be find a way to edit table A’s status field from B once I am done processing it instead of manually going to A to change it. so far I couldn’t find a way to change. any advise is highly appreciate.

confused by 2 contact fields linked to same request record

In my Contacts table I have 2 types (single-select) - “non-profit” and “legal” - and a linked record field to a Requests table. The Request record has two Lookup fields pointing to Contacts - one a lookup filtered by a view of nonprofit-type only, the other filtered by a view of legal-type only.  This is so my user can quickly distinguish the two types assigned to the request.Now, I add 1 contact to each of the two fields in the Request. I would expect to see both Contacts linked to that Request. But the only Contacts shown as linked to that request are those entered in the first (“nonprofit”) column. If I force a “legal” contact into that first Request column, It shows up as expected on the Contact side.I’m not understanding something about how linked records work. How should I structure the linkages between these fields across the two tables?  thx

Lookup Fields - search non-primary field?

Hello, I am trying to use a lookup field from another sheet.  It seems that I can only search by the primary field, not by the field I have selected as the source.  For example:Sheet 1 - Primary field: Job #Job #: 1234Job Name: Sheet 2Lookup field in sheet 1 - Job Name: (I can search for Job # (1234), but not by job name. Is there a way to fix this or work around?

Ideas on how to structure reporting in base

Hello!I am running into an issue where the field count is almost maxed out on two tables in my base and I need the ability to add more fields. In both of the tables, there are many fields that are used for reporting/stats. I considered moving all of those fields to another table but it’s not quite working out.I do closing coordination for real estate agents. The two tables in question are the Properties table and Contacts table.The Properties table has records for each contract. The Contacts table has records for each of my agents. Each property record is linked to the agent for that contract in the Contacts table. Reporting in the Properties table is done based on the agent for things like properties under contract, properties closed X amount of days ago, etc. Reporting in the Contacts table is done based on the agent using rollup/formula fields that reference the Properties table for things like average sales price over X periods, commission totals over X periods, etc.In the new tabl

Inventory Tracking

Is there any way to set up an inventory tracking system where someone can scan a QR code, and fill out a form of what they are checking out as well as checking back in?The issue I’m running into is that its fairly easy to create a form with a drop down of what you’re checking out, but when it comes to quantity of what's being checked out, that's where it gets tricky, unless you create a sperate quantity field for each individual piece of equipment, which if you can imagine, you have hundreds of different pieces of equipment, that is extremely inefficient not to mention the form it self would have hundreds of conditional fields. What I had imagined is for example, I scan a QR code, a form comes up, I check out 5 harnesses, 3 lanyards, and 10 beam clamps and click submit. On the user interface, I can look at who checked it out, what equipment they have what department they are etc. When checking back in, they similarly scan a QR code and fill in what they returned. Add email to a record for reference

Hi I receive email orders and would like to add the received emails to the order record in my Airtable. Tried a drag and drop but this transfers the message from Outlook as a .msg, which can’t be read. Occasionally there are multiple emails, and I would like to have them all in the same place, with the particular order. Any help appreciated!

Storage Limit!

Hi!I’m close to reaching my storage limit on the “Team Plan” (20 GB). I’ve been deleting data to free up space, but I’m not making progress fast enough. Here’s my question:If I have a base with images in X number of rows, and another base with a “lookup” field that mirrors those images from the first base, will the images count twice toward my storage limit?
