I have sent this as feedback to airtable, though I don’t expect a useful response. Partially I’m venting here, but I’m also curious about where the rest of the community sits on this (and if anyone “closer” to airtable has meaningful insight).For several years, the airtable user community has complained about the dysfunctionality of the mobile apps. A large reason we invested in building systems with airtable was the mobile apps. For 3 years, we've accepted that it has "quirks," but that Airtable was working on it.However, we've seen very little progress in this space. The apps are barely functional, which has complicated our workflow. We use airtable "in the field." However, it frequently fails to update records (i.e. you create a record, or add text/numbers to a field in the airtable app, only to find out several hours later those changes weren't saved). Hello! This is a repost from the AI Incubator I was a part of at the end of 2025.I just wanted to follow up on the AI Plays webinar, quite a few people were interested in the custom interfaces but were not entirely sure what they were capable of and how to generate them. Now I can’t find exact prompts, when I’ve been testing I’ve kind of just given a vague explanation of what I’ve wanted the interface to do and then iterated and fine tuned with specific prompts to make changes to the interface. From my understanding, Custom Interfaces use React UI Component which is essentially JavaScript and then uses a Tailwind CSS to control styling and layout. That is the extent of my code knowledge at the moment but its pretty powerful and can make some really pretty interfaces, and aesthetics are my favourite thing to play with 😂. This blog post by Airtable recommends using Airtable as a DAM (digital asset management) tool.My company uses Airtable as a DAM, and when I was a consultant, I worked on projects involving using Airtable as a DAM. Airtable's blog article leaves out a few concepts that you should consider if you want to use Airtable as a DAM.- Most DAMs also provide CDN (content delivery network) services. Airtable has stated that it is not designed to be a CDN. The loss of permanent attachment URLs matches the idea of Airtable not being a CDN. Hi folks, I thought I’d take a moment to share what we’ve built with Airtable. We call our product InspectorPrime. It is a business suite for home and commercial property inspectors. Our clients can purchase the system one time for a lifetime company license. This provides them with both a capable CRM/office management system and a report writing system. Overall, it allows these companies to own/customize (to an extent) their business software while saving them quite literally tens of thousands of dollars over current proprietary inspection software. Right now you can @ a user in record-comments, but you can’t @ a record as far as I can see.   It’s very common to want to reference other records in comments.  Yes I know I can link to other records in a record - but that doesn’t provide the context that an @-mention in comment would.   E.g. in a record named “Collapse map icons when zoomed out” - we may want to @-mention another record like“We should make sure that we coordinate with [@Prevent map zoom from jumping when witching to map-mode] on this one as they have overlapping parts” Bonus points if this triggers a reverse comment on the mentioned record like:“This record was mentioned in [@Collapse map icons when zoomed out]> We should make sure that we coordinate with [@Prevent map zoom from jumping when witching to map-mode] on this one as they have overlapping parts” Desireata“@” in a comment triggers a search not just over users but als

Hi!I've been building a platform called powersync that aims to provide easy-to-setup real-time functionality on top of Airtable. Besides an existing `schema changelog` engine that allows to track changes to fields and tables in an airtable base, the platform now also offers these bi-directional airtable record -> slack message flows.On the powersync side you select a base, table and a condition for sending messages to slack. But as opposed to native integration, the Slack message also updates if the Airtable record updates. And there's an option setup editable fields and custom flows on emoji reactions.I'd like to do more in this area, perhaps a configurable AI chatbot to do CRUD operations directly from Slack.
