Hello,I linked Table A.field5 to Table B. Table B contains several fields: field1, field2, field3, etc.I changed Table B.field3 to make it the primary field and hid all the other fields. Unfortunately, in the dropdown menu for Table A.field5, all the fields from Table B still appear.I also tried creating a view, but I get the same result. My question is: is it possible to limit which fields from Table B are displayed in the dropdown?Thank you for your help ( i am a beginner)

Overview: I have a base that tracks Email Build requests for our developers with users that work across multiple time zones. I’m looking to add reporting on lead time, comparing ‘Created Date & Time’ to ‘Due Date’.Base Setup: Tickets are submitted via form, which captures Due Date on a calendar - this doesn’t ask for a time, so Airtable seems to default to covertly storing the time as the moment that selection was made, in GMT. All other times are currently set to show in the users’ own time zone, but I can standardize that to Pacific if needed. An automation populates the Created Date & Time of the ticket.Need: I’m looking to report on the lead time, but the Due Date should not be counted as a workable day, so I would like that date to always default to 12:00 am (or 00:00:01). The output should be shown in Hours, not Days, as the SLA is 72 hours and that’s not being adhered to. I first worked through this with ChatGPT and I wound up creating a formula field called Due Date Mid

I’ve been experiencing glitches/slowness whenever I try to work with the Find Records step within an automation. I try to insert a dynamic value (blue plus icon) for either Record ID or as value for the selected field, and the page freezes, and I have to check back in later for it to sometimes work. I’ve been experiencing this for many months, and across different bases, and I was wondering if this is something that others have also faced with the Find Records action within the Automations tab!

Hi guys, I am on the business plan of airtable and it shows that i can add 125,000 records in airtable. But when i try to upload the cvs file containing 95k records, it shows me only 45k.I tried to divide it into chunks and add it but still nothing, deleted the base and tried again, still nothing.Whatever i do, it shows me 45k records only.

Hi everyone,I’m using Airtable to manage a large inventory with lots of photos attached to records. When I ry to share pictures.I have two questions:Permanent URLs: Is there a way to get a permanent/public URL for each photo that won’t expire? I’d like to use the photo URLs in Google Sheets/Excel and potentially share them with others. Bulk download: Is there a simple way to download all the photos from an Airtable table at once, ideally preserving the original filenames and/or linking each photo back to its Airtable record?I’m looking for a solution that doesn’t require downloading each photo manually. Thanks!

Hi there, We have trainees who begin with us starting throughout the entire year however we notice if the trainee’s start date is September the academic year tag that is put on that student's position is academic year 2025 - 2026 instead of 2026 -2027. Is there a way within our automations/formula to change how that tag is put on trainees' positions?  Thank you for any help you can provide! Best, Mackenzie LaChance

Hello,I’m new to Airtable and still learning, but the automations I’ve set up so far have already made my life much easier.I’m currently stuck on setting up invoicing. I have three clients—A, B, and C—and each client is assigned a different services package. For example:Client A: Package 1 Client B: Package 2 Client C: Package 3The packages and their pricing can vary by client. I’d also like to include a discount field that I can adjust manually when needed, although discounts will only be used occasionally. At the moment, I have the client details in one table and the services and pricing in another. All invoices need to be issued monthly on the 1st.I’d like to automate the process of creating PDF invoices and sending them out. Could someone please advise me on the best way to set this up in Airtable?Thank you, and apologies if my explanation isn’t clear.

I’m having an issue with an Airtable automation where the same record occasionally triggers the automation multiple times even though I only expect one run per change. This results in duplicate actions being performed and makes it difficult to keep the workflow consistent. The trigger is based on a record being updated. Some records cause the automation to run twice unexpectedly. The duplicate runs happen intermittently rather than every time. There are no intentional loops or duplicate automation steps in the setup.Has anyone dealt with duplicate automation runs like this? What should I check in the trigger configuration or record-update logic to prevent the same change from being processed more than once?

Hi AirTable Community,I’m looking for a simple vocabulary or terminology cheat sheet for Airtable that defines core terms like bases, tables, fields, views, records, interfaces, automations, etc.Does something like this already exist—either from Airtable or from the community? Ideally something that could help new users quickly understand the platform language. Thanks! Rebekah

Hi there, We created a view for a dashboard that is a calendar that populates who is ending on what date throughout the month. However, now we would like to add an additional button where we could click it, and an automated email will go to the trainee and the mentor 30 days before the end date is to make sure they are actually departing on that date. How would we start building that?

Our organization has used AirTable for some time it has helped us standardize some workflows.I would like to know if anyone here has a grant tracker they feel comfortable sharing with the following features.Creating a client organization with clear relationship managers for both the client and the NPO A selector with multiple options/packages offered to the client Automations triggered regarding contract requirements (publicity, social media acknowledgements, outcomes) to the appropriate departments (communications, programs) Visual tracking of the project’s developmentThanks in advance!Héctor

There are many many frustrations since we’ve upgraded our Airtable, there are seemingly low level tasks that Airtable and Omni is unable to do, yet it boasts being able to build an entire base. Extremely annoying. I just wanted to list a few here. Why can we restrict record selection on an interface for clients on a linked file but not on a single or multiple selection? Why can’t we put a prompt into Omni to hide or show columns? This is very helpful if we need to add a same view to other like bases but it’s not able to hide or show columns?  Why can’t we copy an interface and then change where the linked data is coming from? This is a HUGE problem that was misrepresented by Airtable. We thought we could make a linked base, and link the views so that all our clients could use this linked base. Only to find out I’d have to manually set up each interface one by one, over and over again because Omni does not work, and the option to change where the data is pulled form is greyed out PORTAL

Hi there,Long text fields can - as the name says - have a lot of text in them. In an interface, the field just extends to the full amount of text. This is very difficult to scroll then. Could there be a scroll bar added? The AI long text field does already have the scroll bar, great!Happy to see it on the “normal” long text field soon!Best, Chris

We’re back with another Airtable Nonprofit Community builder session on September 30 2026! This time, we’re looking at impact measurement and a challenge I’ve seen in a lot of organizations: the Theory of Change exists, the data exists, but outcomes, programs, indicators and evidence often live in different places. During the session, we’ll build a practical system that connects those pieces, so your Theory of Change becomes something your team can actually use to track progress, learn and report. We’ll look at how to connect outcomes, programs, indicators and evidence, bring quantitative and qualitative data together, and turn the framework into a practical Airtable system. If you work in impact, programs, M&E or nonprofit operations, would be great to have you join us. Register here 👇https://airtableevents.com/build-impact-measurement-09-26 And if you’re curious what these builder sessions are like, here’s the recap and recording from our last session, where we built a donor rep

In the “Grid View” in the app (on Ipad), where the submitted data is displayed, I don’t seem to be able to control font size. It makes the app relatively useless for my intended purpose (see screenshot below).System-wide font size adjustment on the device makes no difference in the Airtable app (same problem on Iphone). Is there any way to adjust font size?I noticed i don’t have this issue on Android, where system-wide font size adjustment works in the Airtable app!

My goal is to set up Airtable for other people to use.Not all of these people will have the same information in their tables They’re not tech savvy, so I’d like to be able to set up a table for them on my account, and allow them to access and alter the data of their own table via a client portal. If in the future they’d like to move everything to their own Airtable account, I’d like to be able to export the table somehow.I looked online for tutorials about client portals, but they seem to focus on filtering the same types of information for different clients to see. That won’t work for me, because the purpose of each table is different. For example, Person A needs an Airtable database of employees. Person B needs a database of equipment. Person A doesn’t have equipment and Person B doesn’t have employees. I need both persons to be able to access their tables and add/remove information as needed. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, I have been stuck for over 6 hours trying to get my Airtable "Update Record" node (Node 4) to write data back into my base. The workflow executes completely successfully with 100% green lights, but the rows in Airtable remain completely blank. Here is my exact configuration for Node 4:1. Base & Table: Correctly connected to my target base and table.2. Mapping Column Mode: Set to "Map Each Column Manually".3. Columns to match on: Kept completely empty/cleared out.4. Values to Update:   - id (using to match): {{ $json.id }}   - Article_Status: Done   - AI_Response: {{ $node["Basic LLM Chain"].json.text }} Both the schema names ("Article_Status" and "AI_Response") match my Airtable column headers exactly with the correct underscores. When I click "Execute step" or run the full workflow, n8n shows a successful run, but nothing updates in rows 15 or 16 of my Airtable sheet.  Since n8n isn't throwing an error code, I am unable to trace why the data payload is silently droppi

I’d like to add an action at the very end of my automation that sends me an email once the repeated action block is done running. Is there a workaround way to do this?

Hi, I currently have a semi-functional workflow but would like to optimize the view of work submissions through the forms on my interface. My team works with equipment rentals and starts by entering job information such as location, dates, renter company details, contact, etc. The next step in the interface would be to add the specific equipment that is being rented out for the job created in the first step. Each piece of equipment is associated with start and end dates for the rental period, and my main issues comes with being able to view the equipment and job details on one page in the interface. Since Airtable’s native form layout is built to submit fields to one table at a time, I have broken it into two form submissions within my interface but this does not allow for a clean view of both the job and its details, plus the equipment that goes along with that job. Is there any way to accomplish this with relative ease? I’m still new to interface building but as far as I can tell, th

When calling the Airtable MCP server (https://mcp.airtable.com/mcp) over Streamable HTTP with OAuth 2.0, the tool calls list_workspaces and list_bases succeed (isError = false), but the CallToolResult carries the payload only in structuredContent. The standard content array is returned empty. What I observe:- list_workspaces: content is empty, while structuredContent contains the actual workspaces.- list_bases: content is empty, while structuredContent contains the actual bases.- The OAuth access token is valid; the calls are not errors. Why this is a problem: per the MCP spec, when a tool returns structuredContent it should also return a functionally-equivalent text block in the content array (a serialized/text form of the same result), for backward compatibility. Any MCP client or model that reads the standard content array sees nothing and concludes the tool returned an empty result, even though the workspaces/bases were actually returned in structuredContent.Request: please also popu

Hello,We utilize Airtable to organize our service center jobs within a university setting. One issue we continually run into is there is no way for us to share the job status, or any updates to the record status, with the submitters once it is in our Airtable instance, short of sending emails. Airtable Portals does not work well for our needs, as we have 100s, if not 1000s, of unique job submitters yearly. Some submitters have only one job come through our system, others have dozens. What I would love is a way for submitters to see a job ‘ticket’ where they can view any updates to their job status - what the current ETA is, if it is still under review or actively being processed, etc. They don’t need to be able to interact, just view selected data under the record. We have a budget I could utilize to pay for an extension, but paying per ‘submitter’ doesn’t makes sense given we have so many unique, one-time submitters. Any thoughts on the best options given our use case? Thank you!

Hi, I have two interfaces in my workspace. One is a form, where my team will enter information at the beginning of each job, and will eventually return to the submission to add/remove/edit the data for completion and processing. The second is a list, that displays the submitted forms. I am unable to add/edit the information in the existing submitted forms, both as admin and editor. Is there a setting or another interface that I can implement to allow for changes to be made to these submissions without going to the data tab within my workspace? I am trying to keep my team from having to navigate anywhere in the space aside from the interfaces as they are using the mobile app.
