I’m trying to automate period assignment in Airtable and want to check whether I’m missing something or if this just isn’t possible without scripting.I have a Periods table where each record has a Start Date and End Date for a 13-period fiscal year. In other tables like Orders, Packaging, and Transfers, each record has a single Date. What I want is for a record to automatically link to the correct Period when it’s created or when its Date is updated, based on whether that Date falls between the Period’s Start Date and End Date.I haven’t been able to find a native way to do this. Automations don’t seem to allow comparing one date field to another date field, Find records can’t evaluate date ranges using the triggering record’s Date, and rollups and filters don’t allow referencing parent record fields. Good afternoon, everyone, I’m now trying to set up my tables so when “Shoot Date” is updated in the “Shooting Schedule” table, the box is checked under “Interview Scheduled?” in “Interviewees’ Contact Status” for the corresponding interviewee, in this case, Alan Barker. Shooting ScheduleInterviewee Contact StatusHowever, I’m running into issues when setting up the automation. Very new to the platform and I’m getting a little tired of my AI support running me around in endless loops…I am trying to build a table that extracts a number of metrics out of my data through a series of rollups.  I would like this metrics table to auto-populate based on the name field, so that each individual in my database has their metrics pulled in. Right now my trigger is When a record matches the conditions-->Name is not empty;then a Find Records step aimed at my database table, based on the condition Where Name is exactly Name--->make a new list of… ID;and last is an Update record step aimed at my Metrics table Airtable record ID, using the field Shifts (linked) - which is a field in the metrics table that is linked to the data. However I’m not sure what choice to make in the Choose record(s) to link to, which is set to dynamic, in order to automatically find all the entries for that name in the database table and then carry those across to put into this Shifts (linked)

We have 800+ bases, each with several automations, and each automation can be sent to any number of recipients based on the project type.  They are primarily external to our org and non-AT users.  I’m trying to find a concise way to audit those email addresses to ensure they are still current and relevant. Can anyone give me any idea of a way to download/query/export this data without querying each base individually?Thanks

I’m wanting to automate posting of Slack messages using the Block framework, to simply have a nice  URL button, but when I submit even example code pulled from Slack’s API docs, the code simply posts as text, the blocking doesn’t seem to apply.What am I missing? Is there something either in Airtable or Slack to turn Blocks on? 

A personal project I am working on is to create a curated list of job roles scraped from the likes of LinkedIn and other places. Specifically, Product Operations (I will say for anyone reading - this is NOT for me, but to support my community who are looking for roles). The idea being, my community can see this specific list, and in the future being able to match skills needed with skills the applicants have, to recommended roles directly.I’m struggling with 2 things:A suitable prompt that can look at a top-level URL and then go find instances within that URL of job postings (If you know LinkedIn, I can get a URL that has Product Ops as a search marker, but then getting information from that is proving difficult).  Because the number of results (records) returned is unknown, I’m using a web-table currently to house this - is this the best way, and what can I then automate from that to get it into a table?My ideal state is to have this run automatically weekly without input from me. Hop

Hi everyone,we’ve been experiencing an issue with the Airtable app and I wanted to check if others are seeing the same thing. Our technicians — and I can confirm this myself — are constantly being prompted to log in again. Sometimes you can get around it by fully closing and reopening the app, but this gets really annoying during daily work.Is this a known issue? And is there any chance the re-authentication interval could be extended?Thanks in advance!

Hello all,I am a small video game refurbisher/reseller and as my business grows Im looking to move from Google Sheets to Air Table to help me manage the complexity of my inventory. Im hoping that the community can provide some insight into how to structure my system so that it is manageable and I keep track of things without making mistakes and/or losing my mind :)The core of my business is based on selling 3 things:Consoles Games ControllersGames are a standalone item. Controllers and consoles are not. Consoles have cables and replacement parts and controllers are similar. I often have to supply additional parts in order to create a single sellable product. For example, I wouldn’t sell a console without a power supply and AV cable.Each product also has different characteristics. For example controllers have colours and could be aftermarket whereas game have unique titles and consoles/controllers do not.Between these 3 core items would you recommend different tables to track each? Any way to Isolate or hide data in the base via access or other means?If I create an inteface with linked data from another base, will the base data be visible by those who have base access? This is relevant when attempting to report on the status of legal work where the repoting dashboard interface needs the metrics however not everyone needs to have access to the back-end data related to the specific cases.  I hope I am explaining this so it’s understandable.   

Hi -I need to collect data on the number of projects per month that change from “potential” to “launched”. We currently have this field set up as a single select drop down that we manually update once the project status changes. I am assuming in order to track this I will need to add a time stamp or something to the changes being made? Or can an automation do this? We need to track over the entire year the total number of product status changes, but I am unsure how to collect this info. Maybe a monthly report that gets emailed to me showing the changes that I can then tally?Appreciate any help/ideas! Thank you!

I want to look up certain related Procedure Records in my “PNP” table, then I want to add all the related Procedure Records to one field in every Work Record in another table. SO: Triggers: Possibly every time a Work record is created? or on a time schedule? A button?Step 1: Look up all related Procedures records based on a Work Record category fieldStep 2: For every Work Record, add all the related Procedures records to a “PNP” fieldShould be easy right? Hello,I’m trying to automate the population of resumes as attachments to a candidate table once a form is submitted.  I’m having trouble getting the resume file to attach to the resume field.  When I do it like this (within a loop through the uploaded resumes), I get an error saying “Invalid String”.  That’s likely because the “ContentReference” is a JSON formatted string.  I don’t see an option to insert the resume file itself, only metadata.  How can I actually auto-insert the resume file itself? Thank you,Robert

Is there a way to add an outlook email as an attachment that can be opened and viewed later? Currently we can add the email in the attachment field but when trying to open it, it looks like gibberish. I can download then, but would rather not add that step to an otherwise simple workflow.   

I try to use lookup tables to reduce duplication of data entry in linked tables. Here is a common scenario and I am trying to solve this. If the lookup value in a table is itself a record, can I do a lookup of that record? So basically, a lookup of a lookup?It seems that I cannot. But it would be super helpful. Or if anyone has a hacky way to solve this, I’m open to it.  Here is table Data, which has its own lookup field from ‘Activity’ to Table Experiment  Then in table ‘Analysis’ I do a lookup of Experiment from linked record to Data, which AT automatically called Experiment (from Activity)(from Data) What I want to do now is call a lookup from that Experiment (from Activity)(from Data) lookup field. I don't think AT permits that. Basically, I want to pull in another field/property of Experiment through a lookup. If ‘Experiment’ were a directly linked record, that wouldn’t be a problem. Recently I have noticed that the more compact menu that is displayed when a record is clicked in calendar view seems to have reduced functionality. Specifically, I can no longer edit fields from that menu and ‘multiple select’ fields seem to not allow for options being chosen from that menu anymore. However, when you click to expand that record view, everything works as its supposed to. The photo I have attached points out what I am referring to.   I have tried this with multiple records, newly created records, different fields, and I have already closed and reopened Airtable. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!

I created a schedule but when I share the public link I want any user if they click the location it the address comes up. If they click a person their email and phone number come up. There is other information connected to each person so I don’t want everything to be shown just those fields. It works correctly for me when I’m in the edit screen of the interface but when use the public link I get a message that says “Record details are not available.” The fields of these areas are all “Link To”. Any help you can give would be great. I have gone into the User Actions, toggled it on and clicked into the details. The permissions are View Only and list the areas with the information I need. If anyone has any ideas let please let me know. Thank you!

Is there a way to have them receive an email receipt of some sort so they know the submission went through?  I think I have it set up to tell them Submission Received, at the end, but they are missing it and then filling it out again.  I’m not sure if it’s a easy fix and I’m just not seeing it or if it’s not there.   And, I guess if it is there and I’m missing it, is it only for paid memberships or free as well.  I have a personal account that is a free account, but had the same issue there as I do with the other.

Hi all,I have 2 connected fillout quizzes.The first is set to create a record, which is working fine.In the end screen, I have a URL button linking to the next quiz.The second quiz is set to update a record, but in the results, it creates a new record.I add an ID in the URL parameter for both quizzes.Where do I go wrong, or what am I missing in the process?

I want to create a signable form using some fields from my base. I want to insert an image at the top of the form, then a bunch of text from a .doc, then the signature field. How do I do that and what level of subscriptin do I need. I’m currently on free. This form will be sent to 28 unique email addresses.

I’m trying to enable users filling out a form to create a new contact. For context, I’m building a repository of companies and their points of contact. Currently, the “Add Contact” button only allows selecting from existing contacts already in the repository. Since this form is meant for intake, I want users to be able to create new contacts directly from the form and have them automatically linked to the company. When I reached out to support, they said when using Airtable's form builder, you can only link to existing records in a linked record field. Users won't be able to create a new linked records directly through the form. Are there workarounds or unique solutions to this limitation?
