This might be a dumb question, but it’s not obvious to me: when giving users permission to sort, filter, group etc. in an interface page, will this affect the interface as a whole or only for that user? E.g. I set up a specific filter and sorting, give users the ability to filter for something themselves and someone adds another filter - will this then affect the filtering for everyone or just themselves???I would like to give them the option to filter, but for the different tabs I’ve got specific filters set up that I don’t want changed on the high level…Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!!

I’m new to Airtable, for the most part it’s not bad I’ve used Chat GPT and OMNI to set up my table however when generating a letter the identifier is not showing up in the right footer note like it should it’s using another Identifier.  I’ve done everything I can to fix this but I’m getting nowhere

I really need to have a better workflow, and I’m trying to figure out if Airtable is the right solution for my company or if I will hit a wall soon.I interact a lot with the products, change prices frequently, and need a highly visual and optimized system. Here is my specific scenario:The Data & Workflow:We manage around 3,000 to 4,000 products.I have a Master Products Table with historical data: UPC, Name, Brand, and Image Every single day, I receive 5 separate Excel files with updated prices and current availability. Each file belongs to a different customer tier (VIP, Wholesale, Distributor, etc.). If an item is not in the daily Excel, it means it's out of stock for the day.My ultimate goal is to use Airtable Interfaces (Gallery View) to show the active products with their respective prices, export them to PDF, and send them to clients.Based on your experience, is Airtable truly the right

I’m created a new Interface and when I add new groups, fields, data, etc., I see it replicated into ALL existing interfaces.I thought Interface creations were independent from one another. Why are my existing Interfaces being updated with new data/groupings when I’m working in a new one (that was not duplicated from any existing record)?It’s very confusing for the teams who don’t need access to all the details.For instance, I run a real estate brokerage and my photography interface is meant to give details about the property and the SEO I want used in the videos created for the property. I've been seeing questions about managing complex contracts in Airtable - where each agreement needs different clauses, exhibits, or terms depending on the deal. Maintaining separate Word or Google Docs versions for each variation doesn't scale.The approach: Instead of duplicating documents, each clause and exhibit is a reusable Airtable record. Hi,Looking at our photo studio order handling and logistics function, I’m wondering how to build an interface for selecting images to to be printed for each customer. Currently communicated by e-mail between the client handling personnel and the logistics personnel, I want to have it inside Airtable.One should be able to view one client’s project, select which print product to order, then select which images to be printed, perhaps select a separate album cover image etc. With this information in the database I’ll build an interface for the people placing the actual orders in the vendor’s system (eagerly awaiting the day when the vendor would be able to accept an electronic order of some sort..).The images are on Google Drive, and we have them linked to an attachment field via an automation (I think, can’t quite remember how this was built).I can show the images on a record picker interface, probably also in a gallery view, open to view them larger and allow comments, download them, but

I logged into Airtable today to find a large number of fields in one base broken. When I traced back the issue throughout multiple fields, I found 7 with an Airtable alert saying “Additionally, some conditions are no longer valid. Clear invalid conditions."  When I clicked on Clear invalid conditions, the grayed out dates on the filters became black but nothing changed (see attached image). It DID fix the broken field issues, but I’m just wondering how that happened. Was it an Airtable update issue? Thanks!   

I’m creating Airtable Interfaces where stakeholders can select a record themselves and view its data across multiple categories/charts. This works well for most fields, but I’m facing an issue specifically with linked record fields.After the stakeholder selects a linked record, the chart displays the correct data, but the filter shows it as “Unnamed {type} record” instead of displaying the actual linked record name.Is there a way to make the filter display the linked record’s actual name? Washington County was established in 1777 and the county seat, Jonesborough, was established in 1779; the oldest county and town in Tennessee.  We have over a 1,000 family folders and over 400 local history folders along with books, microfilm, maps, etc. in the library genealogy collection.  We are building a searchable database on these family folders and local history folders. In this data base, we also set up through ‘extensions’ a search engine.We want to share this database with family researchers.  But we would like to share with them a “read only” database that is searchable.  This is our problem.  How can we set up a “read only” database that researchers could use?  We do not want to put this database on the internet.  Is there a way that we can set up a searchable database that is only ‘read only?’ 

Hi,We have built an API that gets the data from AT and imports the data to WordPress using Custom Post Types that we built.  I have fields in AT that get formatting and when those fields are exported some of the HTML tag formatting is not totally retained.  I get bold text and paragraphs but for example not H2 tags.  The H2 tags gets replaced with ##.  Is there something I am not doing in AT or do I need to tweak something in my API or WordPress?Thanks,Stan

Hi everyone,Is there a recommended way or best practice to clearly identify which base is the Sandbox and which one is Production (live data) ?I've run into an issue where I accidentally connect to the Sandbox base instead of the real one because they have the identical name in the selection menu.Is there an interface visual indicator or a technical identifier that you use to prevent this mix-up?Thanks in advance for any tips!

when I quit airtable app for mac the window goes blank (white) and hangs; I have to do a force quit to quit the app.  this happens every time.  this behavior began since I updated the app.Airtable app ver 1.7.0OS ver 26.6.1 Other functionality in the app is fine.  It just won’t shut down when I quit.  Any suggestions?

I have been working with a free music festival for several years. I’m wondering about using an airtable interface to display our musicians on our publicly facing website and would appreciate any thoughts about that. Wellfleetporchfest.orgThe festivals data is all on Airtable and our website is on Squarespace. We have 60 bands participating at 30 venues. All of this is sorted out and tracked in Airtable. We display bands, with all their publicly relevant data in blog posts on Squarespace. This looks nice, but its a lotta manual data entry every year for an all volunteer crew since there is no way to import data to the blog component.I’ve started to look the the interface option in Airtable and its pretty flexible, but I’m on a free plan and cant see how it actually works - we run this show on a shoe string. Is an interface really embedable? Would  this be a better option for us?Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Did a search for this and found nothing but wondering if there is anyone else that would see some sort of hierarchy levels functionality like from the list view in timeline views.Not just grouping.Not quite sure of how it would work completely but I keep feeling like it would be useful.

Potential work can represent either a specific expected resource or a larger initiative where we know significant work is coming but don’t yet know all of the individual deliverables.The goal is primarily team-level, monthly planning: helping our manager see committed and potential work together, identify especially busy periods, and gauge whether we appear to have bandwidth for additional work.I’ve tried Kanban, Timeline, and Roadmap Interface layouts, but none has felt quite “right” in terms of capturing both timing + workload. At this point, I also feel like I may be overthinking it

AirTable only facilitates Sunday-Saturday week view in the calendar view window/box. Since most of the world does not use Sunday-Saturday week layout. We’ve been asking for the option to change this to whatever we want. More than 50% of the world uses Monday-Sunday so for that reason (and common sense, e.g. ‘Sat and Sun comprise what most people call the ‘weekend’ is at the ‘end’ of the week’), we’d like the option to toggle that. Also, some people use other week formats.  We have been asking AirTable to fix this for over 7 years. It’s crazy that a tool which emphasises the customisability for users building apps/interfaces can’t facilitate such a basic format rule.  This topic was raised 7 years ago!! (2019) and it’s still unsolved:  Their initial proposal does not work

Looking for the ability to hide or show a button, or field based on the logged in user, against a user field for the record. This is not different than how a filter shows/hides records based on the logged in user. Not having this capability means I need to duplicate the interface I am working on for each user persona, which is not good design. AFAIK there is not a native workaround – AT product team could you please give an update on this function?  Thanks, Enterprise User and MVP

Issue:When using an Airtable Interface with dropdown or filter elements, selecting specific options (e.g., filtering records) resets to default after opening a record and returning to the list view. The interface does not retain or restore user selections, even within the same session. Expected Behavior:The interface should remember or restore the user’s dropdown/filter selections after navigating back to the list view, either automatically or via a “Save View” button.
