TLDR: I need to find out how I should set up my inventory. I want it to auto update when I enter or update other records in the base. I want to specify how many of each part every record under the “Models” tab uses. And when I add a record to the “Guitars” tab, which is based on the “Models” tab, I want to specify yet another set of options that auto updates the inventory. The inventory should also be updated when I specify spare parts in the “Service & Support” tab. Of course, the records in the “Models”, “Guitars” and “Service & Support” tables need to be updated too – if only I knew how! The case: I’m starting a small company that will build and sell guitars I design. I like Airtable and I’ve got a pretty good understanding of how to work with it. I’m getting the error “Something went wrong: Unable to extract content from attachment(s)” when I’m running a field agent on an attachment field.The attachments are all PDFs. I’ve personally reviewed them all (there are only 17 rows) and they all render just fine in multiple PDF viewers, including Airtable’s.This is not a consistent error. Using some AI models I do not get the error; with other AI models I get the error on first run with one row, but running it again clears the error.What gives? I have an Airtable base for events I host. We get repeat attendees at the different events. I would like to send text messages to the participants at a particular event if they opt in for text messages. I have this all working.The issue I need help with is that I’d like to keep a master list of participants and their phone numbers who have already opted in at a previous event so they don’t have to opt-in every time. I’m looking for suggestions on how to handle this. When I add a participant for a new event, it needs to check the master opt-in table to see if there is a match. There will be records that don’t have a match as they have not completed the opt-in previously and opt-in records that won’t have a participant as they are not attending this event. As I write this, I’m wondering if an automation is where I need to go for this???

This is kind of complicated and I’m not sure if it will be possible, but here goes. I’m trying to automate data entry for each record I create in my Project table. What I have set up now is a Long Text field called “Paste” where I paste the contents of an email, and several field agents that comb through the text of that email to fill out fields like Project Name, Project Type, Notes, etc. Each email contains the name of several people associated with the project’s production team: directors, writers, and producers. I have a separate table that is a Master Contact List of all the names that have ever been entered, and in my main Project table, I have a linked field called Production Team that links to the Master Contact List. Multiple linked records are allowed so that multiple people can be logged in that field in the Project table. Right now, I have to manually enter all the names. I would love for a field agent to be able to do this for me, but it would require several steps. First,

We have various sales/participation goals that change every year. My idea is to essentially store a unique formula for every goal, for every year, in a text field in a year table. Then in the main table, lookup that text field and somehow create a formula field based on that to do the actual calculation. I am seeking to set up a new base for my Podcast with all the lessons learned from using airtable the last several month, however I am unsure the best way to go about planning a whole new base.  Is there any suggestions for best practices?

Hey, I’m trying to achieve a scheduled reminder for the people assigned to the records. I have the whole logic defined, but it looks like the simplest solution of using “Actionable message” within “repeat for each” within the list doesn’t work (as Actionable message is waiting for action before moving forward).  Any other ideas on how to approach it in an easy and clean way without adding extra fields in the database?Also, Airtable Team, it would be awesome if this could be actually improved on your end if possible :) 

We just added Portals to Airtable and to my dismay, Omni pops up in the portal interface as an overlay. Not cool, especially considering Portals is designed for external users. I had to disable Omni completely to get rid of it in the portal interface. Is there a way to leave Omni enabled for my internal users, but disable it in Portals?

When the seed movement is linked to a contractThe Lot ID should concatenate:{Final Initials (from Farmers)} {Program (from Contracts)} {Seed Variety (from Contracts)} The last two digits of {Crop Year (from Contracts)} {Contracts} (the contract number) The final Bin code (from {To Bin}) following these rules: If the seed is moved to one of these bins — HK 01, HK 02, HK 03, HK 48, HK 49 — the lot number should display the full Bin code (alphanumeric). my question is regarding FormsI have a table countries with country name as main field.in my main table clients I have a field client_country filed which is a field linked to table countriesI want to create a Form view of the clients table.For the field "Client_Country I want to display a select dropdown to select a country among the list from the table countries  Instead of that, in the form besides the field Client_Country, I have a button "Add a file", which is not what I want  Can you please guide me to get the possibility to select one country from the list of countries ?  Many thanks in advance

The main goal is simple: we need to merge the results of 25+ different assessment outcomes (Core Prompts) into a single Linked Record field on our final tracking table. Basically, we need the system to reliably weld 25 lists of IDs into one final master list. -Our Automation Setup  Structure: We have 25+ independent Automations, each dedicated to one Core Prompt (e.g., "Pain," "Swallowing"). Hi! Trying to figure out how to make a field that turns these times into a 24hr format. I’ve tried 2 different time formats examples (01:00 PM - 7:30 PM) as well as (3-8 PM). I’m have a hard time figuring out a formula that will display that in a 24hr format? Any ideas?

This one is a little convoluted and I can’t figure out where I’ve gone wrong. I have three tables - course list, participant list, and course completion status. I set up an automation so that when a participant is added to the linked field in course list, or a course is added to the linked field in the participants table, it creates a record in course completion with that information.What is happening is that the new record will do one of three things: it will link to the correct record in the course list, it will link to a different record in the course list, or it will create a new record in the course list. I actually need to make some changes to accommodate users who get future enrollments, but I want to get this working first.Here is the automation setup:When record enters a view in Participants table, create record in Course Completion Status table. I’m trying to convert an Access database we use to track event and participant data to Airtable so that we can get away from Access and all of its downsides. What we have has always seemed pretty simple and straightforward, but I’m really struggling to create a similar situation in Airtable that isn’t so time consuming. What I have is two tables connected by a join table: Events is where I create records for each new event we host, with a unique number as the identifier, as it’s possible to have multiple events on the same day. Participants is where I create records for each new attendee who participates, and the unique identifier is their username. We have new events about every week, and new attendees is unpredictable. Participants may attend one event or many events, and the goal of the database is to track who comes to which events, to be able to pull data about the types of people who come to our events, and to offer transcripts of the events attended by attendees who may ask for

Hi, I feel this is a tough one and I would like to have some help to figure out where to start.I have a table of contacts and I want to send batch html emails to some of them only, depending on conditions, eg by country. It would also like to populate those emails with data coming from the contacts records, but also from other tables depending on what those batch emails will be about.Here’s a simplified example of what I need. One day I may need to send information about project A (from a “project” table) to my contacts in Canada. A week later I may need to send information about project B to my contacts in England.How would you do something like that? I expect I will need to use some sort of extension like Make, or maybe sendgrid? And maybe some sort of “Campaign” table, and automations?Thanks all for the help!

Hi! I get a “Connection error. Please check if your local block is running.” when running the extension I created locally. It works on Firefox. This was working previously. Initially, I thought it was related to a Windows 11 update that broke development with localhost, but I rolled it back, and it works on Firefox…I’m using the latest build as I plan on using the new multi table feature (I’m currently using the Web API to query a second table).

We are a not for profit organization involved in promoting a fascinating Indian Sport called Mallakhamb.We use a combination of Airtable for data storage and sharing and fillout forms connected to Airtable base for  use by public for signups.I would like to understand the contribution of each part of Airtable - data, calculations, automations, shared views and fillout forms , towards the Public API usage.
