Hello! I am a new AirTable user and have spent over 30 hours trying to build a worksheet generator for my classes. Since I don’t quite know how AirTable works, Chat GPT has been walking me through all of the steps. But … it isn’t working and after 30 hours I’m feeling like I should give up. Would anyone be willing to take a look at it and help me?

unfortunately there is no way for 3rd party clients to update an existing record ussing forms. it creates a new one upon submission. it would be great if users can click on a link which opens up a partially filled in form > they fill it in even further and hit ‘ update’. updates existing record rather than creating another.

For example: If all Tasks are “Completed”, set Project Status to Completed If any Task is “In Progress”, set Project Status to In Progress Otherwise, Project Status should remain Planning Right now I’m using rollups and a formula field, but I’m wondering if there’s a cleaner or more reliable approach — especially when tasks are added or changed frequently.Specific Questions Rollup + Formula strategy: Is using a rollup of Task Statuses with a conditional formula the best practice for this? All records in the timeline have a WBS code, for example 1.17.2, and also a zero-padded version like 001.017.002. In a grid view this allows clean hierarchical sorting without any issues.However, in the timeline view the records are still arranged primarily by start date. As shown in the screenshot, the configured sort on the WBS Sort field is not reflected in the vertical order.Is there any way to force the timeline to display records strictly according to the hierarchical WBS order instead of by start date?

My kanban columns are not in order. How can I change them? I have a labelled order on the data table but this isn’t translating over in my interface kanban view.  

Unbenownst to us and without warning, we ran into our Business tier automation limits. We run a mission-critical medical company. Is there any way to escalate this internally at Airtable? I have already submitted support tickets and contact forms. Ticket # 01168252. My business is literally stopped right now due to this and the repair process will be significant, and we didn’t have any warning whatsoever.

I received some interesting info about the new portals feature and have filled out the stupid sales form (because I have an enterprise account) but no one seems to want to help me. Sad that I’m having to go these lengths given that I THINK the feature might actually be valuable enough for me to waste my time trying to track down a person.  Hoping some will route this to someone. I am trying to create a google doc and populate it with data from airtable. The report pulls from a survey table and a linked responses table (~71 responses need to be organized into pillars and topics in the google doc). I have been trying a combination of automation and scripting or the scripting extension and google app scripts to generate the report. With every attempt so far, I have been blocked by 302 redirect errors. Has anyone been able to successful use the combination of app scripts and air table? I love it for the flexibility on formatting, but am not sure how to proceed. 

Hi, We’re currently running our business using a software package called Squeegee, but we’ve reached the point where it doesn’t allow us to scale effectively. We’re now looking to build stronger internal systems using Airtable and modern automation tools. Our team works primarily through Interfaces, and all inputs are stored as structured data in the backend. In many ways, Airtable functions as our operational backbone.Recently, we’ve noticed that we’re approaching record limits faster than expected. This seems to be driven by the volume of workflows, automations, and syncs to other systems. Hi everyone 👋I’ve recently started using Airtable to track my daily puzzle performance, specifically for Letter Boxed, and I’m trying to build a cleaner, more automated setup.Right now, I have a simple table with: Date Completion status Number of words used Time taken Notes It works fine, but I’d love to improve it a bit.Here’s what I’m hoping to do: Create an automatic daily reminder to log my results Generate a weekly performance summary (average words, success rate, etc.) Possibly visualize progress over time with charts Maybe even trigger a weekly email report I’m still learning Airtable’s automation and formula features, so I’m not sure what the most efficient structure would be. Should I use a separate “Weekly Stats” table with rollups? Or is there a smarter way using formulas + grouped views?Would really appreciate any suggestions on table structure or automation flow 🙏Thanks in advance!

Hi community!I'm building a Custom Interface Extension (with Claude Code) and want to add the native Airtable comments section to my detail view - just like you can add it in the Interface Designer.Question: Is there a component or method to embed the native comments UI in a Custom Interface Extension?What I've tried: Searching for components like RecordComments, CommentSection in @airtable/blocks interface-alpha SDK Using expandRecord() - but this opens a separate modal instead of inline display Building a custom solution via REST API (works, but missing @mention autocomplete)  What I want:  The same comments section you get in Interface Designer - with all features like:Inline display (no modal) @mentions with autocomplete Profile pictures Full comment threadIs this possible? Or is the only option to build everything custom via the Comments REST API?Working with Claude Code and we can't find any documentation for this.Any guidance appreciated! 🙏

Really impressed by an initial test use case! From a basic prompt on a very broad topic - Changes Over Time in the UK Pay TV Market - the AI generated sections and market analysis were on point and factually accurate in nearly every area - a vast improvement on other common AI tools.More impressive still was the quality of the final report - the interactive visualizations are way ahead of anything else I’ve trialled to date. It’s useful to see the sub agent tasks and reasoning, data sources etc.I managed to make a couple of corrections to reports with further prompts, although even a simple text change seemed to take a few minutes (I’d be curious how many credits a simple change like this would take). An ability to make manual changes to the reports to quickly tweak would be great - perhaps this is do-able via the download option but as yet I’ve been unable to get the .json files to recreate the web based report (probably due to my own lack of knowledge in this area, but a “how to” gui

Hi,M problem is that [object Object] is displayed when trying to view the data from one row from one  column instead of text. The issue arises only on one new column on my table. The error comes via a connected application called Fillout, which I assume uses the standard Airtable API’s.Initially I thought it was taking time for the Airtable API interface to be updated. Then I thought I had better refresh the fields in the ‘connected’ to Airtable view on Fillout. But here I am days later without any clue as to what is still wrong. Before you ask, Fillout is happily returning data from a Long Text field in the exact same base and table. One of our team added this new AI auto-generated text field and this is the only field with this problem. The field editor permissions are the same ‘Editor and up’ on both old and new fields. Both fields are a singleton ‘Lookup’ type to the same parent table.I started a totally new form in Fillout and added both the old (not AI) and the new (AI) text fiel

Hi, everyone! For the last 24 hours, I haven’t been able to download CSV files from any of my bases. I’ve tried in the app (on Mac and Windows), and in multiple browsers. Although I see the “preparing CSV file for download” popup, no file is downloaded. Anyone else experiencing this issue, or have a workaround? (UPDATE: it appears it is specific to my workplace, as I can download files from my home network. Anyone have such an issue with their IT setup blocking Airtable downloads?)Thanks in advance, Carole

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.  I am noticing that for the past few weeks it can take several minutes to query a view in Airtable using the API.  Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or was some recent change made to degrade service?  It’s been working great for years, and unfortunately I have to update the backend to use cached records in AWS instead of calling the Airtable API directly via the ‘pyairtable’ SDK. Just a lot of work that’s heading me down a migration path of removing Airtable from our stack, since the workaround is literally not to use the Airtable API, which means no Airtable, ultimately.

While testing automation with Airtable, the webpage froze. I closed the page and tried to re-access Airtable, but the homepage wouldn't load. I could access other pages besides the main page, but when I logged in, I saw the screen below. I tried using a different account, but the same thing happened.  

Given the advent of tools like Claude Code / Codex are there any plans to expand API capabilities do allow more complete read and write?  It has been a long standing community request to allow creation and modification of lookup, rollup and formula fields. Additionally, many field attributes are not available (readable) via API.  I think the urgency on this is much higher now. Agentic coding currently require 1) manual extraction of the full schema data to give sufficient context to coding agents 2) manual human intervention to create key field types.This is going already beginning to affect the build (traditional database) vs buy (Airtable) decision. Both the development process and the long term maintenance process are moving to agentic AI, which at current, is not fully feasible with Airtable.

I get that you can upload a document to Superagent, but will it analyze all of the documents that are attached/uploaded to an Airtable database (i.e., so you don't have to upload them manually)?

Does right now form cannot upload attachments for read only/free users?errror says “You are not permitted to perform this operation”
