Hi everyone ! 👋
I'm setting up a database with a lot of elements coming from different tables.
It's a database on which sales people have to make modifications, but I'd like them not to have access to this database in Edit mode.
To remedy this, I'd like to create a form with an active search.
e.g.: They enter a customer's name, and all the information we've already pre-filled in the fields, to avoid duplicating questions.
Have you already implemented this? Is this possible?
If not, what tools or workflows would you recommend?
Thank you !

Hi there! It seems like you're trying to have sales people edit records within a kind of form view. I would recommend using an Airtable interface. They can search for the client and you can set up field edit permissions however you'd like. https://www.airtable.com/guides/collaborate/getting-started-with-interface-designer

As @Brian_Sweeny mentioned above, Airtable's interfaces are your #1 best bet for this.
However, since you were asking about using a form for this, I just wanted to chime in to say that this is not possible with Airtable's forms, but it is possible with Fillout's advanced forms for Airtable.
However, for your needs, it sounds like sticking with Airtable's interfaces would be the your #1 best approach here.
Hope this helps! If you’d like to hire an expert Airtable consultant to help you with anything Airtable-related, please feel free to contact me through my website: Airtable consultant — ScottWorld
