I am trying to copy a series of tasks that have dependencies on the previous task, our projects have a set workflow and we are planning this workflow Airtable using the gantt view. We want to be able to set up our workflows up for each project from a template with all the dependencies and rough timeframes pre set up but we are running into a problem with how to achieve this. At present when we copy tasks, the dependencies copy also but link to the original tasks in the table, we want to find a way to create a duplicate of the task list and programme with all the dependencies linking to the new set of information, not the original tasks. Can anyone help me find a solution to this? Our workflows have lots of complex relationships and currently we have to set this up from scratch each time linking all the dependencies manually. We are really just looking to have a gantt chart template that we can use as a starting point for our projects. Any help you can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks

I built something similar to this, I think. I used a Template Tasks table. I used a script automation to create new records in the Tasks table for every record in the Template Tasks table. I don't think there was a satisfactory solution without using a script automation.

With the new repeating loops in automations, this should now be possible without scripting.

Of course, using scripting or Make is always available, too. And that brings a lot more ease of use, customizability, and power.

It was actually possible before repeating loops too, but it required an onerous workaround that I discuss in this podcast episode via the context of sending emails.
