First time posting. We currently have a membership Access DB that we wish to have online.

We have about 500 current members with about 30 columns of datafields in addition to the basic name surname address es etc etc. Which is best ?: To try and import all the existing data and try to recreate on AirTable or to start fresh and create the new DB adding whatever columns/fields we want and then selectively import into the columns from a .csv file?
We would wnat to have varius reports or views such as expired memebrships, current or active, deceased, free statuts. paid up . overdue etc etc.

This sounds like a situation where neither solution is bad and they both work decently. I would probably do the following:

  1. Import the existing data with the existing columns
  2. If there are columns that I know won’t ever be relevant, delete those from Airtable
  3. Check each column to make sure it’s in the proper type, updating the type if necessary

This will give you a clean base to create whatever new views you want!
