Column widths and field names

Hi, I’m wondering if there’s a solution to this problem (see image). My columns have to be wide not to accommodate the data but to accommodate the field names. Result: mostly white space in view. Solutions that don’t work:

1. Shorter field names. I do need the field names to be informative!
2. Narrower columns. Then the field names are truncated and I don’t know what I’m looking at.

Anything I haven’t thought of? I realized that one solution would be:

3. Adjustable height of field names row. But that doesn’t seem to be a thing…

Yes, this is one of my Top 10 Feature Requests for Airtable, and one of my biggest pet peeves too. It’s a problem throughout the entire product line (i.e. lengthy text gets cut off everywhere throughout the entire product, in all views, in all parts of the entire product line).

But yes, at the very least, columns in grid view should be the very first to get this problem fixed.
