It would be nice if when creating new fields โ especially when the fields have fixed-length content โ for Airtable to default the field width to the size of the content contained in such. For example, if you create a single select field, default the field width to either the width of the longest selection option or the field label itself (whichever is longer). This would save the need to constantly resize each new field.
For bonus points, allow users to doubleclick the area between column headers to expand the field to fit the contained text whenever users want as they can currently do in Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
