Button Fields could really use an update to allow for dynamic button labeling. A label could be set to not only Single Line Text, but also support other field types such as Single Select, Link Fields, but also Attachments where an Image could be displayed as a clickable button.

Here, we see each button opening a unique URL, however the label is static - locked as the text "Open URL" which is an awful user experience. Why not allow for other fields to be referenced within the Label, exactly how the URL formula works?

Part of this issue stems from the URL field itself also being too simplistic, and not supporting text for the referenced URL itself (which then itself could be used by a button field, without the need for an independent Label field).

I'm really struggling with this as well! Is there any workaround?

Definetly a must have, please spend a bit of time on this "small" feature and not only on IA stuff

Dynamic button action and labeling sounds like an interesting idea. What would be some of your use cases for that?

@globers

I have a table of deals. I use Process St workflows for quoting. I have a button in the deals table in airtable to start a new process st workflow run for the deal.

We might issue >1 quotes as we negotiate, so we can't disable the "new quote" button until an order is received against one of the quotes. But we have situations where a new quote workflow isn't completed for some reason, and a new one is started in error.

We could help avoid this by having the button label change once the first process st workflow run has started to read "Additional quote" or something like that.

(This is the use case that had me googling for this feature.)
