I have an auto updating field “Last modified time” that watches another field, and updates when that field changes.
However, I just changed that field type from “Single line of text” to “Long Text” + Rich Text Formatting, and now the auto-updating field shows that every field has now been updated. This somewhat ruins the integrity of the metadata on the actual field content.
I am requesting an option on the Auto-Updating field types to “Ignore Field Type Changes” so that such changes to format/style but not the actual content, are not tracked as changes.
The particular use case of Single Line Text → Multi-Line Text seems especially important, but I’m sure other use cases apply.
