I love the fact that, in Grid View, you can manually re-order records, and sort by a variety of criteria. But it would also be nice if you could sort and manually re-order GROUPS of records, when displaying in groups.

Currently, the only option is an alphabetical sorting of groups. That just doesn’t work for our project management base, in which we commonly create views for a particular user, sorted by status (in progress, with client, on hold, etc) or by priority. It would be great to be able to put the most relevant groups at the top.

I think we’re all wanting what @Artem_Dzyuba described above. Not grouping on a specific field, which has easy ordering, but grouping on a linked field. Where the only options are alpha. Or some crummy workaround where you put a number in the name to force ordering.

None of these solutions work when the field by which you are grouping is a formula. In our case it is the month extracted from a date field. There's no way to group by month and have those months order in any way other than alphabetical. So many thumbs up for the suggestion to built in custom sorting for groups/sub-groups.

Yep I am still waiting after many years for this grouping feature when using a formula. Very frustrating.

Agreed. But in the interim, how about having a number in front of the group name:
1/ Suasages
2/ Burgers
3/ Steaks
You could hide that field if it doesn't suit, and have a second group name field without the number.
Just a thought, worth a try to see if it works I suppose.
