I considered that, but the goal is to map out a plan going forward rather than just identifying the individual stage. If I can represent multiple colors, I can see when something is supposed to be in a new stage.

So, each record represents a project. Then each task has two fields, a start date and a deadline date. There are 5 tasks, so 10 fields total, but when you create a Gantt view it just shows the earliest and latest date of the entire project...
A rollup field did indeed work! I’m not entirely sure how it works, but the value now comes up and is read by the automation, so good enough for me. Thank you very much!
