Hi All!

Been looking around for a solution to be able to select multiple dates on a form.
Knowing that a date field can't support selecting multiple dates I've created a table that has all the dates within the calendar year as records and then am using a linked record field to allow them to be added to the form.

The challenge is it's a dropdown that I can only select 1 at a time. I was testing to see if holding CMD or SHFT or OPT might unlock a multiple select ability on the dropdown but no go.

For another workflow I created an interface page that allowed checking a box next to desired records and an automation to update a targeted record with the selected POST the form being submitted and creating the target record but that would be clunky for this workflow.

Any other suggestions?

Hey @chrisberry! Are the dates you'd like/need to select consecutive?

If so, you could have a Start Date field, and an End Date field (and if all individual dates are needed, you could have an automation to fetch all of these and link them on a given field for the submission).
Furthermore, if you need multiple ranges, you can use Fillout.com which will allow you to create multiple linked records (i.e. multiple ranges within your parent form submission).

Please let me know your thoughts!

Hello,

Have you enable the "allow linking to multiple records" option on your linked field?

If so, you should be able to select more than one entry in you form:

@Pascal_Gallais- Thanks for the reply. I do have that turned on.
@Mike_AutomaticN – Thanks for the reply. The days might not be consecutive.

To further clarify the dates may or may not be consecutive. Here's a visual of what I have...
Each day of the year is selectable in that dropdown. Each time you select a date it get added and the dropdown closes so if you're adding 50 random dates you do this 50 times.

I'm trying to figure out if (and it's seeming highly unlikely in the form) that I could hold CMD or SHFT as I'm clicking dates to have them select and once done selecting get added.

Basically no difference than how you can select multiple files in Finder on MacOS (Shift + Clicking selects a consecutive group OR Command + Click lets you select non-consecutive files).

@chrisberry , thanks for the clarification and my apologies for not understanding what you were looking for.

As @Mike_AutomaticN  suggested, you may want to have a look at Fillout forms, it offers many possibilities. I do not know for this one, but it is worth checking.

Pascal

Hey @chrisberry! to the best of my knowledge none of the usual form services (Airtable, Fillout, Paperform, Jotform, etc) have that ability. The closest you'll find (I think) is this widget from Jotform. But even then, you'll have to select one date per click
