The most recent run history (among many other automation aspects) should be an extension accessible in the SDKs and API.

@BillH - are you stating this is possible or that it is needed? If you are stating there is indeed an API or SDK to achieve this, can you please elaborate on how to get us there?

... are you stating this is possible or that it is needed?

By definition, it's a business requirement that is not addressed by Airtable.

Automations (again, by definition) is intended to remove humans from the workflow. Whenever you turn over a manual process to an automated machine, you need to capture data about that process to know if ...

  • ... the process failed.
  • ... the process succeeded.
  • ... the process took too long.
  • ... the process was last executed at xxx AM.

Without this data, you're running in the dark, and your system is dumb and blind. You have no way of being informed about outcomes. Nor is there an integrated event handler for automations. Businesses are building systems that are incapable of self-healing.

Almost 50% of my automation development effort is directed at providing the underlying infrastructure to generate the data necessary for automations reporting, monitoring, recovery, and self-healing. This infrastructure should be integral to Airtable and, in doing so, would help all no-code/low-code customers create smarter, safer, and simpler automated workflows.
