How to filter a multi-select list with a value?

Hi.
I have simple example to explain my question.

  1. I have linked two tables with a multi-select field: Books and Authors.
  2. For every Authors I can select many Books that the Author has wrote. And for every Book I can select many Authors that have wrote that book.
  3. A Book is wrote in a language and the Authors know only one language

Question: how to filter the select-list with only those Authors that use the language of the Book if I want to associate correctly the Authors with the Books based on the language?

Bump.  I'm having a similar issue with setting up my base.  I have rental furniture i'm dealing with.  My primary field is "job number"  and I have a linked field for "rental component" (Desk Style A) and I have a linked "Rental Crate#" field as well.  I want to filter out all my rental crates that DO NOT have Desk Style A in them and select from the remaining options, rather than be presented with every crate in my inventory
