I love Airtable—me and Mindvalley founder Vishen Lakhiani have been recommending Airtable to tens of thousands of our customers for years... and I included a lesson about Airtable AI into our "AI Mastery" program, however, the way your AI credits system works makes it difficult to recommend Airtable AI to anyone. Most probably your system uses credits every time you generate previews on "Long text" fields which is a very flawed UX design and/or unethical billing practice... because:• (A) You set GPT-4o as the default model (which is an overkill in 90%+ cases) and you don't allow users to set "GPT-4o mini" as the default. GPT-4o burns through credits like there's no tomorrow.• (B) You automatically generate previews (without asking for a user approval) and burn through their credits.• (C) You do not state in any documentation and you do not provide any warnings that AI credits are being used during test/preview runs. As a result of the above I received dozens of complaints from my stude

I have a Generate with AI automation for extracting information from a document. However I get the following response. The prompt in the automation refers to the field with the document and the record has the field so I shouldn't be getting this error. I can't access external documents or links. Please provide the text or details from the document, and I'll do my best to help you extract the information.

Hello, It would be massively beneficial for my project to be able to use Grok (xAI) as one of the automation options for updating fields using Airtable's generative AI features (or really, any uncensored or less censored LLMs). Is it ever gonna happen?

I created a interface with airtable i but I don't have the base in my workspace. How can I retrieve the base for the interface?
Hi to everybody, I would like to do everything with my web page CARRD.Co and Airtable. Do you think it is possible? I found a person who linked this page (which I attach) to carrd.co. By entering the email in the appropriate space and clicking the button, the user will find in the email box (see first attachment) the email sent via Airtable with a link that will allow him to download the pdf files and another link that will allow him to download a form (google moduli) to fill in to make other requests or leave comments. It would seem everything was done with Airtable and carrd.co; it does not seem to also use MAKE or something else like that. Do you think is it possible? if it were possible, what system should be used with Airtable to connect carrd.co with airtable? Thanks a lot to anyone who helps me out of this puzzle that is driving me crazy
Hi, My goal is to upload a PDF to an attachment field, use the AI long text field to extract relevant information from my PDF and then update other fields in that record with the results. I have figured out the prompt part and the generated text is returning all of the values I am looking for but I don't see how to update the relevant fields automatically since everything is combined into one text output. I'm looking for a solution where I don't have to add another tool like Make or Zapier. Please help. Thank you.

Totally new to Airtable, can Airtable Assist / Airtable AI feature help create spreadsheets on Airtable from scratch; In short, I can ask questions to this integrated AI agent (exactly like the Copilot AI agent integrated into Excel) in order to help me carry out all the basic tasks (or even more) such as creating lines and columns, categorization, labels, groupings and financial analysis and many other possibilities? I wanted to share a way that we currently use Airtable AI to improve our project management: We use Grain to record our meetings, as clients often want recordings. This also includes a transcript of the call. While Grain does use AI to provide outcomes, we realized we weren't able to prompt it at all, so often outcomes and next steps were muddled, so it wasn't always clear as to who did what. So we now import Grain recordings into Airtable and then we use Airtable AI to review the transcript and then generate next steps for the team, as well as for clients. Here is an example prompt for our team: Based on this transcript {transcript text} please provide next steps for the Rudd Consulting team. The team members would be {team member names} Please output as bullets, the only output should be the bullet points, no conversational points needed. If this meeting is a sales call, or is an internal team discussion, the only bullet point should be "No Team Action Needed" Now we have clear outco

I thought I'd share the recap here as well for folks at the event and for those who missed it. 🙂 Welcome The day kicked off with breakfast meet-and-greet. @Howie, Airtable’s CEO, opened with insights on the exciting new Airtable AI features and his vision of how it’s a game-changer for enterprises. One of my favorite usecase for Airtable AI was Howie’s strategic analysis of financial analyst reports. Howie pulls the data in the equity analyst reports into Airtable which reflects the sentiment towards Airtable. He has 10 different questions that he cares like “How Airtable is represented in the analyst coverage.” The reports are long and would normally take many hours of research to aggregate the information.
