I’m using a 2 level hierarchy. I added color based on a condition but its acting on the child records, not the parent records. Is there any way to do this?

Yes! Airtable’s conditional coloring works at the record level, so it applies to child records, not parents. To color parent records based on child conditions, you can use a Rollup field to pull key values from the child records, then apply conditional coloring to the parent based on that rollup.

If this feels tricky, feel free to ask—I’m happy to help!

Thank you very much for your quick and very nice response!

I understand rollup field but not sure how they work in this situation. The parent document already contains the data (which is a date field) that I want to base the condition on. How does that differ from rolling up data from the child?
