Record matches automation not running for new entry from form

I have an automation set up to trigger when a single line text field in a new record is empty. The empty field is then populated with some text.

The trigger works as expected when a new record is added directly in the airtable base but when an entry is added via a form, nothing happens.

Any thoughts why this is happening?
