Can I link a record in a number or text field to an external URL?

An entry in a text or number field in a base needs to be able to take the user to the linked page on an external site. Is this possible?

I often link records to SharePoint data and SharePoint lists back to Airtable without any trouble. Have you tried or encountered an issue?

Thanks for the response Karlstens. Are you using an extension to achieve this? I cannot find a way to say select a record in a field and associate an external URL to this.

No extension as such, typically I manage hyperlink creation within my records using formula fields, that reference other text fields within the record, the final result being a dynamic link that changes depending on that record.
