Product ID column in the Inventory Tracking Template

Hi guys, I would like to ask for some advise regarding the “Product ID” column of the Inventory Tracking Template. I understand that each product has its corresponding unique Product ID, is the value of the Product ID column here unique and will always be tied to one specific product you have entered in the Product Name column?

The template uses arbitrary numbers for that column, unique values are not enforced.
