I am new to the free version of Airtable which I am using to keep track of my craft stamps. I have at the moment around 500 items which have sentiments listed. When I try to find a particular sentiment I search for eg has any of, but it gives me "enter comparison value" and all the sentiments I have created. What I want is just a search box so I can just type just one word eg happy, so all those sentiments are found. What have I done wrong please and how can I rectify it.

Ah, here are some step by step instructions, sorry for the confusion!
1. Create a 'Formula' type field: https://support.airtable.com/docs/formula-field-reference
2. In that field, reference the 'Sentiment' field.  It should look like this:

3. In your filters, use that new formula field which should now let you filter by 'contains':

And I've updated the base to match

Nope, wouldn't matter!

I'd also suggest checking out the Airtable academy to familiarize yourself with some of the functionality if possible!  https://academy.airtable.com/

Hmm, could you provide screenshots of your table set up and of how you're trying to filter?  This is what it looks like for me when attempting to filter by a long text field, for example

Thanks for the reply. This is the choice when I filter. The field type is multiple select. You can see on the headings I don’t have a drop down box either.

Ah, you want to do a partial filter on a multiple select field!  To do that, try creating a formula field that'll output the multiple select field's values; this effectively creates a text version of the multiple select field's values which you can then filter by:

Link to base

Thanks so much Adam that worked great. Looked at the academy and it blew my mind. I don't think I need to know that much depth for organizing my craft room. but thanks again, I really appreciate you taking the time to help
