I am new to working with formulas in spreadsheets and I’m just curious if they are the same as the ones used in Excel or are these specific to Airtable. See:

Is there a name for this type of formula language? Is it VBA?

Sorry if my question seems unclear.

I don’t think that the formula syntax really qualifies as a computer language as it’s missing major components of a complete language (no loops for example).

The syntax for Airtable’s formulas is similar to the formulas in Excel, but by no means identical.
Excel has many more formula functions available then Airtable does, but Airtable is a much better tool for managing, embedding, and sharing data then Excel will ever be.
