interface filter elements tabs

if you add an interface page with a gallery template it gives you options to set up filter elements tabs with different filter criteria for each tab

but if you start with a blank page and add a gallery element, those filter elements don't seem to be available. 

am I missing them or are filter elements not available in non-template interface pages?

You should be able to add your own filter onto the page (from the lower left corner), and then connect the filter to the gallery element.

thank you for your response! I can add one filter for the gallery. however, using the gallery template alone gives you the option to set up tabs, which allow you to set up multiple different filters that the user can swap between, but that option doesn't appear when a gallery is added to a blank page.

Yes, it does. Drag out a gallery element, and either connect it to a filter that you drag out or use the "Specific conditions" option in the right margin to create a filter.
