Sorry to ask this, Ive been around and around and around in circles with the help doco, the information in help doesnt match what I see in my paid business description and the AI bot doesnt have a clue . . if I try to log a support ticket the Airtable support bot crashes and says to reload the page (seven times now)

I need to give access to a user to an interface, I dont care if they are a paid user or not, I dont mind paying for their access.

I only want them to be able to see the interface and the many nested records within it. (it nests to 4 levels). I dont want them to have access to the home screen or the "back to home button" or to be able to stuff around with the data at all, I dont want them playing, going looking or saying "its airtable give me data" just please please please let me give them an interface to see what i want them to see.

I am on a paid business account, the help files list all these different levels of access that apparently I can give them, but most of those options dont exist.I simply have the options of editor, commentor or read only. even though I am a business account and I own the workspaces.

None of these options exist. I just want to have a view that can use an interface, at all levels, that I have build for them . . without them then being able to get into our backend (crazy I know)

You should be able to set up an interface with restricted views based on the "user email" if you have it inside the base and they are logging into Airtable with that email, you could create an interface and share a read-only link to the specific users without giving them access to anything else within the base, you could add the user as a read-only collaborator for the specific interface, or use a third-party tool like MiniExtensions or Stacker. The "back to home" button I believe is universal and that is for users to go to the main Airtable page to see all bases and interfaces they currently have access to and I don't think can be changed.

With each of those options you can create the interface to only show what you want and keep everything else out of view and access to the user.

I hope this helps if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thank you, unfortunately as many users are also saying, this means that viewers want to then go play.

I had a very uncomfortable instance yesterday where literally one of our customers saw the Airtable portal we have made to display the data they wanted, and asked in writing for airtable access so they could export our data and build their own "because it's Airtable right" . . they even said they had budget to go make this inhouse now I had shown them what could be done.

If we have a key partner that we give read access to they are simply going to go straight to that back end, hit  and all my value goes out the window for six months till they realise they cant do it.

I can see where that is frustrating and I feel as though that may never go away when working with clients. There is also the option to share a base view with the data you want and make the share link unable to copy data out of the view. This way its just a URL view page and they cant really do anything with it.
