Over the past three years, I’ve designed several systems for my school division using Airtable, Softr, and Make. Other divisions have expressed interest in developing similar systems, but I no longer have the capacity to take on these projects. For example, the curriculum office is looking to create a platform that allows teachers to submit requests for professional development. The system would manage the entire workflow—from approvals and notifying stakeholders about decisions to adding hotel and travel information, per diem tracking, and collecting details about the training (e.g., objectives, alignment with the school’s mission and strategic plan). It would also allow for tracking the outcomes of the training.
The system will be built using Airtable as the main database and Softr as the interface—similar to what I’ve implemented over the past few years, but designed by an expert.
How much do you think a service like this would cost if outsourced? Specifically:
1. Process design: Consulting with the customer (in this case, the curriculum office) to define workflows and requirements.
2. System design and development: Building the interface, automations, and necessary integrations.
3. Annual maintenance: Ongoing support to ensure smooth operation.
4. Future updates: Incorporating any new requirements or improvements over time.
This would include the Airtable and Softr costs, though we may leverage my existing subscriptions.
Thanks for your help! I want to provide other departments with a clear idea of what such a project would entail in terms of cost and feasibility. Expanding these efforts beyond our division is important to me, but it’s beyond what I can handle alone.
