I use the LONG TEXT field on my records as a way to put in subtasks as checklists - these aren’t linked to secondary tasks, but they itemize the steps I need to take on a specific task. I’m often copying from something else to add in to the checklist. Here’s what I don’t understand.

This is the list I copy:
VFX-01
VFX-02
VFX-03A
VFX-03C
VFX-04
VFX-05A
VFX-05B
VFX-05C
VFX-06

When I paste it in, it looks like this:

Is it possible to paste it in so that I don’t have to manually add a checkbox to each line?

My guess is that this is a bug. I am able to replicate the same problem.

You’re also supposed to be able to type markdown to create checkboxes in that field, but I can’t get that to work either.

So this appears to be a bug in how Airtable handles checkboxes in rich text fields.

I would send an email to support@airtable.com about this, and report back with what they say.

Good intel. Noob on this forum. Does AirtTable not review comments etc?

Best work around I’ve found is to paste it in and do the old delete-return, delete-return, delete-return. Annoying, but I can live with it.

Wish I could easily rearrange the list order

Airtable does not regularly visit these forums. It’s just users helping fellow users.

Ahhhhh bummer. I’m always so sad when a company that hosts their own forum but doesn’t participate!

Yes, I completely agree!

Either way, have emailed them, I’ll let you know what the response is. Thx
