Recently, and inconsistently, when I update a field, the Chrome prompt for Update Password comes up. If I'm updating many fields, it keeps coming up. Extremely annoying to say the least. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution? I don't get this behavior in other browsers, but I'm pulling data from Google Drive and I find working in Chrome easiest. I've got a Windows 10 64-bit laptop with Chrome Version 117.0.5938.150.

Thanks!

This has been happening to me too! I'm on a 2023 Macbook Air. I've noticed it happening in the past week or so. Super annoying.

This has been happening for me as well and it's quite disruptive!

Ditto! I am waiting for a solution. In fact, when I searched for this solution, I wondered if I wrote that original question, LOL... I'm on MacBook and using Chrome. Unfortunately, Airtable has NO SUPPORT to help alleviate this issue. I have been through 20 minutes of that stupid robot support redirecting me to different rabbit holes because I have used the word "Password".

I will post here if I get a solution when Support responds. I DO have someone I'm working with. I was using a Macbook, but I use a Windows-based computer at home. I am having the same issue, just looks different, on this one as well.

For me, it's happening on Single Line Text. I have not verified if it happens on Long Text.

Can you all let me know so I have additional information to tell Support?

Checking with Support - can you tell me if the field is set to Single Line Text or something else?

Let me know the text field setting so I can tell support when they respond to me.

Which text field(s) is this happening in?

Happening to me too.  Seems to be single line text.

single line text for me.

When I changed my field to Long Text, the problem went away. It's just a workaround though until support responds.

That worked for me.  Thank you!!!

It happens with many input fields like Single line text, Email, Number, Currency, Percent, etc. Unfortunately, changing these fields to multiline texts is unacceptable to me.

This issue is happening to me too. I've noticed it happening on Single Line Text and Number fields.

Also happening for me on both my macbook air & macbook pro on Chrome version 117.0.5938.149. You can turn off "Offer to save passwords" from the chrome/google password manager, but that applies to every site obviously and can be easy to forget to turn back on.

I'm on Windows, and it the same for me 😞

Yes, single-line text. If I change the field type to long text the problem goes away. But of course, it's inconvenient.

Thank you all for the additional information.

I have not yet received a solution from support and will post as soon as I can. They did not indicate they knew of a problem, but the more I use Airtable, the more the issue pops up on NUMEROUS fields. Yes, it's annoying.

Chiming in to say i have been experiencing the same bug. hopefully airtable will sort it out soon. it is super irritating.

Yes, I'm now noticing it in a currency field. Thanks for alerting support. Hopefully they'll put out a fix

CURRENT RESPONSE FROM SUPPORT:

I just wanted to give you an update this is a known issue and our engineering team is actively working on this as we speak. This seems to be affecting some other customers as well, and we're committed to finding a solution. In the meantime, a workaround I recommend is to disable saving passwords in the Chrome browser setting.

  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • At the top right, click Profile  Passwords.
  • If you can't find the Passwords icon, at the top right of your screen, click More   Google Password Manager.
  • On the left, click Settings.
  • Turn Offer to save passwords on or off.

Thank you for your patience.

That might be a temporary solution, but I do not want to turn off that option all the time.  This problem just started and only effects Single line text and currency, so there has to be something in the code that needs to be fixed.

ABSOLUTELY AGREE! And that was my response as well.

Sorry guys...

Seems like support has wrapped up their end of the ticket in a nice little bow by telling us to turn off a global feature until they decide their issue is important. Maybe you all can send support tickets to level up their priority. Here's the last response from support - they've CLOSED the ticket:

We appreciate your understanding of the temporary fix, and we'll keep you informed of any developments. If you have further questions or encounter any related issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Warm regards,
JC

Same issue. Is there a solution here somewhere I've missed?
