If I am in Base A and click the “+ Add or Import” button and select the “Sync data from Airtable base” option and select a table from Base B it brings in and syncs the table.
One thing though is single and multiple collaborator fields get converted to Single line text.
Is this expected? Is there a way to make it stay as a Collaborator field?

Hello! This is an old post, but I am adding a solution here if it's helpful for others. I encountered this same issue, and my workaround was to sync data back to base A. Our use case was a teacher reporting tool where:
Base A - contained the teacher collaborator fields and assignments
Base B - contained evaluation results
I set up an automation in Base B to link the teacher with the result, matching a unique field found in both sources. Then, after syncing Base B back to Base A, I set up another automation to match the unique field identified in Base B. The original collaborator field was still preserved in Base A, allowing us to display evaluation results only belonging to that collaborator.
