Hi - Our warehouse is a third-party service provider. Whenever they receive our product, we’d like to have them log one field within a single view.
However, much of the Airtable is confidential information that the warehouse frankly does not need to see.
Is there a way we can restrict or provide viewing/editing permissions for a specific table or specific view within a table?
If not, what’s a good workaround? Thank you.
If you want people to actually edit a field (as opposed to just viewing a field), Airtable doesn’t give you a way to limit them to just a specific table or just a specific view. You would need to turn to external tools for that.

Using an extension would not require you using a block first. But check out the other tools on that website — there is likely one that would work for your needs: https://miniextensions.com
If you can’t find one, you can use Stacker, which gives you complete control over everything you need to create a customer-facing portal into your Airtable base.
I am in the same situation and the third party apps more than double the monthly operating cost of Airtable, which, as a non-profit, we cannot afford. This added functionality would be greatly appreciated as part of the Pro version.
We too really badly need this functionality within Airtable on the Pro Plan.
You can make a View, hide the fields that you don’t want to expose and share that view.
The user cannot see (unhide) the hidden columns in the shared (source view)
Or a more complicated workaround (not tested_
(1) Make a new base
(2) Tables in the new base only with columns that you want to share
(3) Share the new base
For me, the first one is good enough

Alternatively, you can use an external tool which will cost extra money per month, but provides user restrictions built-in as a part of its feature set. Some of the most popular portals available for Airtable today are:

Airtable, you should really add this functionality. There is already the ability to restrict users from editing in different tables, why not make it possible to prevent them from viewing as well? Otherwise it's very hard to keep everyone synced with the same data, while also not allowing every person at a company to see all company data. It is natural to want to restrict certain data for particular functions.
