Password Protect Interface?

Hi, @kuovonne !

Is it possible to share an interface with an external user? (Client in this case). I developed an interface to track project pipeline, and it would be helpful to share the interface instead of various independent "view" links. 

How does this work? Or do I have to add them to my organization on AirTable?

You can share just the interface with an external user if you have a pro workspace or higher. You will need to pay for the user, unless the user is read only. 

Have the user create an Airtable account and then click the share button for the interface to share it. Make sure you share only the interface and not the whole base.

Our miniExtensions portal and shared view extensions are a great fit for this use case! With either of these two extensions you can share access to Airtable with ease without the need for your users to have an Airtable account (or any account for that matter). The portal allows your users to log in and see only the records related to them (from one or multiple tables), whereas the shared view does not use a login and simply shows all records in the configured tables to everybody accessing the link. Otherwise they are very similar. 

If you are interested in user permissions, the portal would be the better choice, since it allows you to show different data (and even different tables and views!) to different users. It is protected by a login screen where your users sign in with data you define in an Airtable table.

Both the portal and shared view can be protected with a simple password as well to restrict access.

I understand currently Airtable does not have a native feature to hide specific tables from certain collaborators. All collaborators with access to a base can see all tables within that base. An owner can't restrict access to just one table. Bonkers.

The fact that Airtable hasn't integrated some of these privacy restriction sharing options and users keep asking for it here it's clearly needed >> as evidenced by the multitude of extensions miniExtensions has developed. Why hasn't Airtable integrated the functionality gaps called out by miniExtensions? Specifically more nuanced privacy sharing options within a base?
