I want to know how to the change the avatar background color.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, two of the collaborators have the same background color for their avatar icons. Apart from updating the picture, can I change the background color to differentiate them?

The colors are randomly assigned. You could try deleting one of the collaborators and then re-adding them to see if they get a new color, but probably the best thing to do would be to just let them upload their own photo or avatar to represent themselves. You can do that on the Account page here:
