Only Embed Block Views

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

In working with the Organization Chart Block, it would be really neat if we could just embed the block dashboard view instead of having to have the entire base embedded in a website. It would help our site look a lot cleaner.

Thanks!

Embedding blocks is in beta testing right now… I believe you can still request to sign up for it at this link: https://airtable.com/shrLK2dGvhx46S6bU

However, to embed a block, you still need to give be okay with someone having access to the entire base. It puts a little button in the corner of the block that says “Show Data”, which upon clicking shows all of the tables in the base.

Hopefully when the full feature is released, there will at least be an option to remove that button. For most of my use cases, the only reason I want to share just the block is because I don’t want everyone to see all of the data. :slightly_smiling_face:

Is there an update on when this might be happening?

Any update on embed “blocks only”, without data view?

Following this discussion as I have the exact use case. I need to embed a block to my external web page!

I would also like to ask if this feature is actually available at all with or without showing the underlying data. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Unfortunately, I’m not privy to if/when the feature will be out of beta testing, or if the “Show Data” button will removed when it is. My understanding is that with the way that airtable is structured, it’s extremely difficult from a software developer’s standpoint to allow blocks to be embedded while simultaneously keeping the data secure. Fingers crossed that someday soon this feature is widely available :+1:t2:

Not as advanced as the chart block, but we’ve built an extension that allows you to embed a chart view.

@Moe: You are building good stuff but to be honest I am not sure if everybody would be able to right away spend US $39 for an extension per month. Please give a consideration to a two tier or even a 3 tier plan. Maybe give folks access to say 3 extensions of choice, 15 extensions of choice and all your extensions or something similar, whatever, but for many folks the all or nothing deal is not going to be without resistance. Thanks for sharing.

With the new Sync Tables feature it is now quite easy to anonymize a part of your data to a Synced Table, and install and export the Block from there. Depending on your use case it may work !

I’d like to embed an app (pivot table) but not expose underlying data. It sounds like I could do that according to your post. How might I do that?

In my particular example, I needed the number of people to show on a map without showing their names. I synced all the non-confidential data (sum of number of people) to a Synced table and created my map-app from there. You may be able to achieve something similar if the Pivot table axis are not confidential.

Reading different posts, it seems to me that the embed blocks in the website were in beta since 2018.
Do you know where this is at? Do you have any news on when it will be released?
Have you used this form and had access to it - Request access to beta features?
