Basic visualizations like overlaying a line and bar chart can't be done, but vegalite can do things like that and much more.

+2The charting blocks are really very limited; sometimes so much so that they are not usable. The vega-lite extension is sooooooooooo much more powerful.
Couldn't agree more. Getting BETTER data OUT of airtable via graphs/charts must be a critical objective from Airtable. Today - I'm having to export all data into metabase to do the graphing I need, and that's a PITA.
+2Plus + on this. Odd not to see functionality to add the Vega-lite charts to interfaces. May also help to move to JSON v5 with Vega-lite. Looks like Airtable is still using JSON v4.
Agree on supporting Vega-lite in Interfaces - but only if it supports the full capability of vega-lite. The current Extensions capability is limited again in the area of Grouping - a common charting need.
+13It's really disappointing not being able to create comparison charts, where are the steroids of airtable?
+2+1 still waiting for this. Airtable native charts are really limited. Can't even do time based line graph. That's so rudimentary!
+4+1. This is a huge hinderance to bigger adoption by our company. "Airtable is awesome....we just have to export all the data and visualize it in another product because you can't make more than a basic bar/pie chart in the interface".
