Welcome to Change Makers, our series highlighting customer stories and builders making an incredible impact with Airtable. Today’s Change Maker was one of the winners of our MVP AI Build Contest, showcasing innovative use of Airtable AI

Meet Alex, Senior Tools Manager at Airbnb

☕️ Coffee, tea, or something else entirely to fuel your workday?

Coffee (usually too much). I've been trying to mix in some decaf but it's tough.

🕹️️ If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing?
Making video games or music, or both. But I'd probably still be tracking it all in Airtable.

🧑🏻‍💻 What’s the most surprising use case you’ve seen (or built) in Airtable?
Gotta go with the OG W Vann Hall's community post where he created conditional linked records... before they even existed in Airtable natively. Such an exciting moment in Airtable building that really inspired me to push the limits.

🗯️️ What advice would you give to someone just getting started with Airtable?

Think of something you'd like to build that excites you, be it personal or professional, and use it as a testing ground to learn new things and build off of it. That's what helped me be motivated to keep learning :) Oh, and refresh the airtable.com/whatsnew page constantly.

The Airtable Omni Solution for Personal Health

In our busy lives, it's easy to overlook subtle patterns in our personal health data. Worsening symptoms can slowly become our "new normal," and we often miss crucial warning signs that could inform our doctor visits.

Alex Wolfe, a Senior Tools Manager at Airbnb, decided to tackle this head on when he recognized the potential of Airtable's Field Agents and Omni features to transform personal health monitoring. Alex used Airtable to build a personal medical tracker that automatically surfaces trends from symptoms based on your medical history.

Omni took his build a step further by analyzing your personal health data to identify patterns, and it even can research connections between your symptoms and medication side effects using its internet research capabilities!

The Game-Changing Results

"What would typically require complex charts or dashboards can now be done with a single prompt," Alex shared. This means less time spent poring over data and more time understanding what your body is telling you.

For those of us too busy to prioritize detailed health monitoring, this tool is a game-changer. It empowers individuals to be better informed during doctor visits, enabling more productive conversations with healthcare providers and ultimately helping us take more proactive control of our health journey!

Copy & Paste AI Builder Prompt

Technically no prompts were needed to create the base, but Alex used this prompt with Omni to analyze the data:

Summarize: symptoms over the last month and compare against any medication side effects I'm taking, that might be relevant for my next appointment with Meredith Grey.

From this, Omni searched the relevant data across tables to find the answers, alleviating the need for the prompt to be be very complicated.
